I agree with this. When I moved to Texas I ended up accidentally running a bunch of red lights because I was messed up by how much longer the lights are than in the northeast, I’d slow down too soon and it’d still be yellow, so I’d say I guess I’ll go and then it would turn red right before I entered the intersection

Sorry pal, you’re the one who decided not to bring a roof. And you’re going to have to go out soon anyway...

Executioners have nipples too!

You are definitely supposed to replace cycling helmets after one hit, and I believe the same is true with motorcycles. Obviously some sports have more common hits to the head, and so something like a football helmet is designed to take repeated blows.

Pence only needs a few GOP senators to prefer him to Trump and he could easily be president. Cabinet members would work too.

Yep on the Boston side of the NEC, they have problems with twisting coastal tracks, tracks that are too close together (preventing the Acela from tilting, because it might tilt into another train), and the fact that much of it is owned by Metro North rather than Amtrak so it’s less straightforward to fix even “easy”

Ah yes, Leviticus... I’m sure this place has never married a clean-shaven man, makes sure that the wedding attire never is woven from more than one type of fabric, and only serves Kosher dinners (and for dinners on the Sabbath, that they are cooked ahead of time). And of course surely they do not support our

The problem is that Fitz is dangerous. He’s too erratic to be a real starting QB, but he is a guy who can go out there and have 4TD games to go with 4INT games. Too much risk he wins a few and you end up with the 3rd pick instead of the first. Better to bench him for a guy who is consistently mediocre.

The biggest problem there is Baltimore, which has a very old tunnel that requires the trains to slow down massively. Amtrak would like to have the fastest trains skip Baltimore, both to avoid the tunnels, and because stopping at BWI/Baltimore means the trains never really get up to speed between DC and Philadelphia,

That’s not Deadspin’s doing (in most cases ads are auctioned on demand). From my time in the ad world, I’d guess Jack Daniels really doesn’t want their ad appearing on this article either, but it can be a bit difficult to control.

My apartment complex in Houston did this for Harvey. Pool full of chaise lounges.

They hold down wages because no one is encouraged to reach for players because there’s only a few desirable ones available. And as noted, it means they never get stuck with bad decisions. It’s definitely not a player friendly approach.

The owners would love one-year contracts. That would make it super easy for them to hold down wages, while putting the risk of injury and decline solely on the players.

It doesn’t even mean less money for the owners. It would mostly just mean that if a team gave out a bad contract, they’d be limited by cap space for longer. There’s no reason guaranteed contracts mean you need to increase the cap or the player’s share. It would be a better situation for players who get hurt (or

This asshole is pretty much the reason for the dismiss button.

Modern safety standards require very strong roofs, so I’m not surprised it can take the weight, but getting it up there and securing it was probably a good trick.

Now, there’s some things I don’t fully understand, here—do all of the Cheeto crumbs and fragments of 5-Hour Energy cap wrappers and other bits of dust and detritus just go through the hose and get blown out the back of the car via the fitting on the exhaust? I don’t really see how it would work, otherwise.

There are a huge number of 10-12 year old cars that will sell for < $5k (some of which are quirky and interesting), and will be safer, faster, more reliable, and better handling then any of the ancient options listed here.
