Pai is completely beholden to the telecom industry, but he’s never been a telecom exec. He’s spent most of his career in government, though he did have a stint as a Verizon lawyer.
I didn’t realize these were quite so mighty until I accidentally shocked myself with one the other day. Not much worse than licking a 9V, but mildly surprising.

True, though I think it’s unlikely that patterns have shifted so significantly over the past 25 years as to make the comparison nonsensical. If anything, my impression is that airlines are charging more for their premium tickets compared to their coach seats, which would drag up the average as compared to the median…
I’d assume they it’s going to make them lose less. It doesn’t make sense for prices to go up enough to offset their loss of capacity (if it did, it would make sense for them to just to shut down that capacity on their own).
Which is fine, but given that “Sexual Assault” includes things much less serious than rape (though still not at all good), it makes sense to call this out as rape, so that no sense that he just groped her or something (again, not that that would be ok).
It’s true that there are more fees now, but I think the main thing is just that inflation can be difficult to wrap one’s head around in terms of what you think things should cost, even if you rationally know it’s there.

Well they still lose the production. It’s the competing refineries who’ll really do well (which may be a reward for possibly having less shitty safety practices).
I thought about getting gas last night, but no I wanted to eat my takeout while it was still hot...
Huh?
Biden was elected to the Senate in 1972 at age 29. And yeah he’s old.
Whether you are purchasing new or used, there is a floor at which a dealer can’t go any lower if they are serious about moving a unit. Buying multiple cars doesn’t change that bottom dollar
