Looking at their results, it doesn’t look like HID really provides much of an advantage over halogen, there are good and bad examples of both. Really they should be using LEDs instead of either though.

Yes, but IMO vastly better than traditional taxis.

How nice that they arrive! I’d hope that the apps improve that sort of thing. It’s no fun to be continuously calling dispatch and have them always tell you that your cab is 20 minutes away, regardless of how much time passes.

Definitely not my experience (though I’ve barely used Lyft, I use Uber primarily). While there have been outliers, my experience is that the cars are cleaner and better maintained than the taxis, and the drivers friendlier. At the same price, I’ll take my chances with Uber every time vs. a taxi.

They have made their own apps. People prefer Lyft and Uber because taxis suck.

Had one of my refurbs die after ~8 months. Of course maybe I just got unlucky. The others are working great, and I like Hue a lot more than other smart lighting I’ve tried (though I wish they made 100W equivalent versions)

Limiting that to Superbowl winners really cuts the sample size unnecessarily, especially given that Brady makes things a bit weirder. It would be much more interesting to look at playoff teams.

5mph bumpers have been dead for decades. They went back to 2.5mph in 1982, and I think even that has been dropped now.

You haven’t been too enough churches.

Well I mean I think that’s relevant, but in the opposite way you mean. Yes, there are old buildings, but built over centuries. So instead of judging modern construction by the past 30 years, maybe consider the past 300. Even setting aside grand cathedrals that took centuries to build, it’s really not a fair thing to

True, though he’s also been offered a deal with no jail time. Even if he fights it, its extremely unlikely he’s going to the slammer.

I’m sure there will buildings from our era that are cherished. We may not know which yet, though it’s certainly possible to identify candidates. But really, we won’t know because they’ll have to stand the test of time. Some of this we can see already for relatively modern buildings, if the Empire State Building burned

all my lights worked well thanks to my friends, the electrical geniuses Steve and Charles.

Yes, abandoning the name of the single most successful airliner in history because of two crashes makes a lot of sense. And those plane purchasers surely only take a superficial look at what they are buying before they plop down $100M per plane, so they will be easily fooled by a name change.

Good. Maybe in the days of 1970s seat pitches reclining made sense, but it’s a real mess today. I’d much rather just have it banned entirely in coach.

Good luck David, I think you may need it. Glad to you boss looks after his people though.

The bigger problem is that what he purchased was clearly never worth even $500. Basically scrap value minus the cost of towing it.

I have rented a car within the past 5 years that didn’t have cruise control.

There’s no question he’s super talented. How can you not like this:

I’d imagine the biggest advantage is it can take you up to where there is significantly less dense air, so you don’t have anywhere near as much friction to overcome to get up to the required speed. I have no idea how much that justifies the extra expense and complexity though.
