The other layer of nuance with the whole franchise law thing is it’s not so much that a Ford dealer needs protection from Ford Motor Company or a GM dealer needing protection from GM, etc.
Having OEMs sell EVs direct sounds great in theory until you consider how the dealer / manufacturer relationship actually works.
