Thankfully the Hellcats are still safe according to these clowns.

80% of big city police agencies now have body cameras. 47% of all agencies have them in the U.S. It should be 100%.

Mercedes, I’m all for lots of video being an excellent way to keep police interactions safe. Its the live streaming that is a potential issue.

The counterpoint is more officers and more cameras create more scrutiny and much less chance of a bad outcome when someone is allegedly not cooperating.

As I mentioned above, I have no issue with bystanders or passengers in a stopped car recording a police interaction. The more cameras, the better, as it keeps everyone accountable, right? Nowadays, everyone has a camera and it is a good thing overall.

Recording on both sides is good for public safety, no question. Live streaming is the issue in question with potential for creating escalation and unsafe scenarios.

Middle aged white guy" As if that somehow strengthens your position.

“Live streaming doesn’t endanger police, like at all.”

“Safe to assume”. What evidence do you have in this situation?

Again, you're completely missing the point.

So original, yet so utterly ignorant.

You're missing the point.

Both “sides” have those same options. You also have to consider that editing or turning off cameras, or turning on cameras later in an interaction that eliminates earlier context, are generally very obvious when even casually scrutinized.

The issue is the not so subtle difference between merely recording which is constitutionally protected, and live streaming which creates potential for escalation and reduced safety for officers and suspects.

Most major jurisdictions already have have body worn and squad car cameras. The ones that don’t, should be required by statute.

This is gets into a really interesting grey area.

That friendly window decal is an extremely efficient way to let everyone know “I’m an absolute douche lord” without having to say “I’m an absolute douche lord."

First gen (KJ) Jeep Liberty.

I’ve driven one and liked it, other than the old 2.4 which is kind of meh for its segment. Didn’t notice any unusual chassis flex or ride weirdness at all. Seemed perfectly fine to me, especially with the new interior.

Anecdotally, I’m a full year into my ‘22 Stelvio. It’s been perfect.
