I’m not pro or anti-Tesla. I’m just pointing out the loss of profit from one of Tesla’s biggest single customers, Stellantis/FCA.

It’s not a billion dollars of revenue, it’s a billion dollars of pure profit. It is a HUGE deal..

Exactly. At low RPMs, they’re basically a twitchy Civic.

I’ll give it am NP, at $5,400. This one appears clean enough with just enough rarity to make it an interesting, yet kinda cheap, daily driver.

You sure go through lots of tires for someone who rarely hits that sweet 5,800 rpm VTEC bump.

From articles in LaPoint and Automotive News, they had to give Tesla some warning because they would be buying zero credits..It sounded like the CARB thing was no longer an issue either. It will have a huge effect on Tesla's financial statement, apparently.

I call B.S.

An S2000 is an absolute gas hog, you barbarian.

Yep, some people do commute in big SUVs. I don’t have a problem with that as long as they don’t hit me or camp in the left lane.

Sigh. I do get what you’re saying, however, you gotta realize most of the potential Grand Wagoneer buyers will have at least one or two other much higher mpg vehicles they use for normal commuting, errands, etc.

Not any more. Stellantis has already announced they will not have a need to buy carbon credits from Tesla due to the synergies of a larger global organization with EV and high MPG global platforms.

I sat in a loaded Grand Wagoneer a couple weeks ago. It looks way better in person than in photographs (unlike the new Escalade/Denali/Tahoe which look awkward AF on the road) and I was impressed. The interior is kinda spectacular, which I suppose will also be a big selling point.

You are not wrong. Not at all.

The correlation would be “high”.

5th Gear: I wonder what percent of these increased crashes are happening around convenience stores and fast food places after 10 PM?

“low beltline” “bigger windows” - Hey manufacturers, if you want to start a new trend, this should be the new trend. PLEASE.

Fuxsake, I think you guys need a do-over on this. The Escalade makes a lot of money for GM and a lot of people (who want to look like more of a big deal than they are) want to buy one of these big beasts.

This is a WAY better solution than the beat up muffin pan in my tool chest.

Sounds more like you’re describing a TJ Wrangler, although, I would agree an “aged” first generation Liberty is something you drive very deliberately at freeway speeds with both hands on the wheel. They are also extremely sensitive to tire pressure. I keep ours at 36 psi which helps considerably.

My wife’s 19 year old Jeep Liberty. Admittedly, it doesn’t have remarkably high miles (154k), yet, it’s about to dutifully slog through its 19th rust belt winter as a daily driver.
