The number of times Snyder fanboi would freak out on Twitter any time you said the Snyder Cut was only a workprint... “Nuh uh! Picture lock! Film cans! It could come out tomorrow!!!!”

I’m a little surprised they didn’t do a “Mulan” with Black Widow. Disney+ claimed that they made $270 million from the premier access sales of Mulan, and they keep all of that rather than splitting it with distributors and theatres. I thought they might put it out around Thanksgiving.

I was hoping for BTK. And then Jimmy could ask Trump back on

I’m just surprised they didn’t merge it with HBO Max back in May. Migrate all existing customers on DCU over to HBO Max, give the annual members who signed up a reduced rate, and boost their numbers.

The whole series is on Hulu in the US.

It’s amazing how they’re gaming the numbers so they can have their cake and eat it.

I’ll check it out in six weeks on rental and see if I agree with you.

The reason they aren’t going to VOD is that those big ticket movies like WW84 and Black Widow all cost about $150-$200 million to make, never mind market. They need to make $700-800 on the global box office to break even. Even is the profit margin is fatter on VOD, I don’t think that they’re going to make enough that

Can you add some butter tarts and nanimo bars?

this year will be remembered for how many things people have said that they never expected to utter in their entire lives.

Imagine watching Princess Bride and rooting for Humperdink.

That’s essentially NBC’s model with Peacock. You can watch a limited selection of their stuff for free, with ads. Or pay and get everything ad free.

Agree. HBO Max’s business plan is “HBO, but more stuff!” And once they iron out deals with Roku and Amazon, they’ll be fine. Quibi’s model is “shows you didn’t ask for that you can watch on the toilet while at work.”

I use a Chromecast as a workaround to watch HBO Max on my TV. Although if I didn’t already get it for free as part of my AT&T service, I don’t think I’d sign up and go though the hassle

I just saw this on Twitter and I was 100% positive it was a stupid hoax. Fuck this shitty year.

I literally cannot imagine wanting to see Unhinged in a theatre so badly you’d be willing to get Covid.

That was my first reaction. “This shit again?”

Agreed! It was much better than the usual procession of party flacks commandeering the mic for ten minutes each to drone on about their state. I remember watching the one in 92, when Clinton was nominated, and the guy from Iowa went on and on and on about Tom Harkin. “We were the first to recognize the dynamic

Yes. I never want to hear about this shit movie again, and I’m not going to watch a version that’s twice as long and drained of all color.

He’s bitter that most of Cyborg’s part was cut out of the movie. Anything else he’s alleging might be true, but it’s impossible to verify.
