I got a Chromecast so I could watch HBOMax and Studio Ghibli movies on my tv, which seems to be the best workaround until Roku and HBO stop their pissing match.

I watched the UFO one with interest since I spent a couple summers doing theatre out there. I liked it, but I gotta say I really miss Robert Stack’s seedy narration. That always helped sell the stories with his gruff and ominous voice. 

My favorite of his style parodies is “Pacreas,” which sounds like it could’ve come from one of Brian Wilson’s “Smile” sessions.

Yeah that death really stood out as gratuitous. My only guess was that her part was drastically reduced or rewritten in later drafts but they’d already spent money on the death scene effects and decided not to change it. It annoyed me to no end that Ian Malcolm’s surprise cameo in Jurassic World (photo on book jacket) was almost as long as his heavily market cameo in Fallen Kingdom.

The funniest thing about reading Transmetropolitan now is them thinking anyone would care if a journalist wrote a searing column. Spider literally stops cops from killing rioters by writing an expose. That seems so quaint now. 

I liked it a lot, but it couldn’t compare to his last special, Annihilation.
