Nope, the Akrapovic exhaust is a genuine Akra catback offered as an OEM option in Europe (its been offered on the MK7.5 as well). It’s a $4000+ option fwiw and very unlikely to make it to the states.

I got a good deal on my GTI 7.5 right before the covid price boom. I probably would have upgraded to an R by now but the deals are gone. So, once I’m out of warranty I guess I’ll get a tune to make it “new” (to me) again.

I agree with this line of thought. These riders are not crazy. Call them otherworldly or crazy talented, maybe even very comfortable with risk, but none of those things make a person crazy.

Potentially unpopular opinion here - VW manuals have always felt like crap, including in the GTI. Awkward clutch engagement with a rubbery shifter with too long of a throw. I like the driving and handling dynamics of those cars, and would prefer to have them with the DSG if I owned one.

I think it looks very modern and distinctly different than the first gen, which had only been out for 7 years and really only mainstream for about 5 years. Being one of the best selling cars in the US and the world even before the refresh, I think people are liking it just fine.

I hate them and will not promote that kind of travel, most people I know do not want to actually go someplace where they are not taken care of and want to just be in someplace warm but still little ‘merica.

How is Porsche not more popular in the replies? Toyota in the standard of reliability and nothing else. The driving experience and materials are awful and the only reason 90% of buyers put up with them is because the cars run forever and the owner hates driving anyway.
