I knew this before it started making headlines everywhere, but bike lanes and proper non-car transit are business-friendly. I had to go to the same place in downtown LA on four different modes of transport to figure that out.

I mean, it’s not like someone is going to fit a fridge or oven into their car. That stuff is getting delivered no matter what
Next I propose a Ban on SUVs and Trucks (non commercial), then ban all non enthusiast cars. The streets will be filled with beautiful, smaller, proper sports sedans, coupes and super cars, fitting for such a vibrant city setting...However I’m banning new gen Chargers and Mustangs.
When the rolling coal bros see a guy on a bike:
Pick literally any city that's done it, it's a universal constant like the speed of light.
My city has been removed car lanes and street parking, as well as adding bus and bike lanes. Despite all the skepticism, it works. Business is booming on these streets, traffic flow is better and less people are getting killed by cars.
The Stinger is a pretty big car already, even bigger isn’t a selling point for me.
Yeah, I was 50/50 on whether or not I should have ended that comment with an /s - guess I made the wrong call :)
I had no idea these weren’t just Jeeps. <shrug>
If I have to tell you that the tech from 120 years ago just might be different than whats evolving today, you’re beyond help.
The single most inefficient thing you can do with a hydrocarbon is refine it to gasoline and burn it in a car. As the grid gets more efficient and more robust, the calculus will begin to include PHEVs. Notice that seven of the top 12 green cars are already EVs.
It’s not a scam at all. The scam is that here in the US, the car makers decided to push big expensive EV SUV’s instead of cheaper small compact EV’s. Elsewhere in the world- like in China- small EV’s dominate.
“One caveat in the study is the ACEEE assumes Prius Prime owners were using its all-electric range for a “little over 50 percent of their driving.” One expert disagrees with the findings, as the WaPo reports, saying real-world use might undercut the data.”
I’m in Canada. We don’t worry about ambulance costs. My last ambulance trip of about 5 miles (that I don’t remember due to meningitis) cost me a $40 co-pay. Staying alive shouldn’t bankrupt people.
Not an air ambulance, but the local hospital tried some similar bullshit when my Grandmother died. She had insurance, but the way the hospital coded the bill, the insurance would not accept it. The insurance company even TOLD the hospital what they needed to change to get paid in full, but they refused. Jokes on them,…
While several responses are “they opted out of part B, so live with the consequences of their actions”.... Stop it, this woman is over 65 and probably on a fixed income where they COULDN’T afford it. The sheer fact that there is a $71K difference between insured and uninsured is proof that they are price gouging.…
I’m American so the fact I was close counts for something =)
Turns out that everyone loves a free market right up until a bigger fish comes to eat more of the market.
US automakers have spent decades setting the stage for cheap imports by cutting back further and further on entry-level models. They could do a lot to undercut the threat of Chinese imports by putting out some cheap cars themselves.
Personally I’m a skeptic of the self driving projects but I think its a little premature to hint this was due to local animosity towards Waymo. From the description of the event it comes across more like general rioting.
