Why not just run sprint races? 20 minute race, 20 minutes to stop and work on the trucks, talk with the drivers and then another 20 minutes of racing? I see how the timing thing works as they can plan ad breaks, but it just sucks for all the reasons you and Steph mentioned.

It’s not about the billionaires. It is the fact that this is going to happen. Be it in 5, 20 or 100 years, this is something we can reasonably expect to exist. What I was commenting on is I can see where this makes sense for GM as a business. If I was a shareholder in GM I would see this as positive.

This seems like a pretty good idea. Ford has paired off with Google, so that dance partner is gone. GM will likely be the lead partner in developing the tech and the cars, so less hassle there and this gives them a production outlet to push development. Should be interesting to watch.
