Thats the difference between Idaho and Georgia. haha

also, thats incredibly cool! I’m definitely not but I picked my Jalopnik Screen name over 10 years ago, and its always been my favorite plane.

😂 My Mitsubishi is the same. probably 8 Outlanders, on the lot, but everything else is used cars. You can tell they’ve prioritized finding in-depend vehicles, they’v got a whole line of Broncos, Gladiators, Kia Tellurides, etc

My two bits of anecdotal experience:

Fine, compare to a Rivian R1s, starts at $72k. Seats 7, much quicker and more capable offroad. Still loses in every single category, other than maybe availability, if they can produce enough.

I think of it more like Lamborghini charging $250k for an SUV with the powertrain of an Audi Q7

Very interesting article. The craziest part to me is the price. at $30k, the low slow speed and ride quality might be excusable. But at $70k+, you’re competing with Teslas, Base Taycans, Mach-E GTs, and other very impressive cars

Crash safety laws. They have to add that lower bumper so that when you rear-end it in your Miata, the bumper doesn’t hit your face. Similar to these on Semi-Trucks

I was looking at Broncos a lot this year (ended up with a 2-Door Wrangler because I couldn’t find a Bronco for less than $10k over sticker)

The big issue with the Sport for me is the lack of a low range transfer case. It really does make a world of difference when offroad. With my needs, I could probably get away with

I think the idea behind this, is if you have a diesel vehicle, you likely know you have a diesel vehicle and know to always put diesel in it. On the other hand, I know a lot of people that drive gasoline cars that may not even know the diesel exists, or why there is a green handle on the station.

Came here to say the same thing about the Chevy SS. Looks like a Malibu, drives like a Camaro

Pretty sure this is a joke, but in case you’re not, most sand dune areas require a flag to drive your vehicle.

I know lots of people with 1/2 ton trucks that use them for nothing but commuting, but here in Idaho, everyone I personally know with a 3/4 ton or 1 ton pickup regularly tows 10k+ lb boats, horse trailers, Goosenecks, equipment, etc.

Could an F-150 with a Max-Tow technically meet their needs? Yes, but it won’t be

Ran into this problem all the time when shopping for my Wrangler. 90% of whats available is actually in Transit. Super frustrating. I ended up with the same strategy, only targeting cars that had actual photos.

I’m not sure the dealerships are even motivated to change it, since their goal is to sell you something else

Seriously. Utah hasn’t has an Albertsons since 2009 when Associated foods bought out their stores and turned them into Fresh Market

Hence why I don’t mind having the fuel economy of the 2.0 in my Wrangler. It has tons of pep as well. The 3.6 wouldn’t gain me anything.

The biggest bummer for me is the potential loss in towing capacity. (Jury is still out on what the new highlander can tow)

I love driving the 2.0 Turbo in my little Wrangler, but the NA V6 in our 2017 Sorrento can tow 5,000 lbs. The new Sorrento with a 4cyl turbo can only haul 3,500 max.

Totally makes sense. I wheel in Idaho and Utah, where we climb over rocks and dry dirt 😂

I’m curious why you didn’t like the 4:1. Was it geared too low for the tire size?

I loved the xB I had in college. Camry reliability, manual transmission, and SUV-level Cargo space
