Now hopefully everyone will stop whining about it. ;)
I kid of course, I’m as excited as any of you for this. Though I would be totally down with a remake of VI and IX too.

Yeah, I was expecting maybe a few people to disagree, but not break out the pitchforks and torches. I didn’t even say anything remotely negative at first. lol
Yes, which is why I am bored of the same 10 cues being abused in every sw game.
The definition of trolling sure has changed apparently.
Thank you for the well researched and communicated reply. I actually have a lot more respect for Williams now.
Hahahaha, nice.
Duped comment. Please ignore
Hack was probably too strong of a word. Overrated might be more along the lines of my intent. Once again, i love some of his work. But I think he gets far too much credit. When there were and are peers of his that deserved much more attention.
Im not suggesting they scrap the original tunes, but damn if they don’t get boring hearing them over and over again. Personally my favorite piece is from the Empire soundtrack, and its when Luke is being rescued from the bottom of cloud city. Its a really stirring theme. But even that got over saturated when i heard…
Thanks for the compliment!
I’m pretty sure in any universe the line: “I absolutely just fucking did. What are you gonna do about it?” is considered throwing the first punch. But whatever dude, this is all fucking trivial anyways. I have E3 pressers to watch. Peace out.
Yeah, and I’m not the only one. People have been calling him that since he started writing music. That’s not to say I don’t enjoy many of his scores, but I’m not going to sit around pretending like they are all totally original compositions.
I didn’t insult anyone but John Williams. And he isn’t here to reply.
That’s a fair rebuttal, and I will agree with you.
is “gifted” more appropriate?
Not at all, and as I stated above some of his scores are among my favorites, but that doesn’t change the fact that he really only works in a few modes. For the record I think Jurassic Park and Hook are two of his best scores.
Just google search dude... there tons of articles dissecting his technique.
LOL... I am going to write a reply and say how fucking stupid you sound. You do realize Williams “stole” almost all of his ideas from said classical composers? Though he was much bigger on plagiarizing people like Mahler, Wagner, Grieg, etc.
Dude, he’s been long considered a one-note composer. ALL of his soundtracks sound interchangeable. All he does is use the same basic patterns, and arrangements over and over again (which he basically “borrows” from the great composers of the Romantic period of classical music 1850’s - 1900’s). I enjoyed his music when…
Yes, I was totally “demanding” things. If the new definition of “demanding” is asking a question.
