I think the point here is, you usually are going to want to pay for medical expenses from tax-advantaged accounts if at all possible. If you’re using after-tax dollars to pay for healthcare expenses, you’re losing money.
For what it is worth I know that both Verizon and AT&T offer home wireless plans that are designed to serve as wired Internet replacements. In AT&T case I know that in some areas this putting a dedicated antenna up. These plans are not heavily promoted so you’ll have to do a bit of digging to find them. I also…
If I’m following you correctly the crux of your argument seems to hinge on the idea that the money I pay OOP could be placed in an IRA or 401k where it grows tax free. Okay, but that is balanced by taking money out of my already tax advantaged HSA where it no long grows tax free. Effectively I’m taking the money from…
Well the logic to me it is better pay expenses out of pocket and keep the money in the HSA in order to let if grow through investments tax free. This assumes I can pay OOP without going into debt. You use a $1000 example which I probably wouldn’t be able to cover OOP so would draw on the HSA. Most of my expenses…
Is there any information on the best way to invest an HSA? My current plan is to try to pay my expenses out of pocket and invest any savings above my deductible in case I have a sudden expensive medical emergency. Is this a good idea or should I just invest it all. Also should I invest like I do my retirement accounts…
Eh, a card isn’t exactly ideal. depending on what you were planning to do with the money......but the article says you can transfer the money to a bank account. Minor annoyance over a check if your bank support mobile deposit but otherwise not something worth being angry about.
How does this differ from a check? The issuing bank keeps the money till you redeem the check.
Why? You can use it practically anywhere, exchange it for cash, or move it into your bank account. In some ways it is better than a check. Outside of not expecting it and thus potentially throwing it away - whats to hate or be mad about?
You know what I like about AllRecipe - it gives you the recipe. I don’t have to scroll for 3 days past a novella about how the recipe changed your families life, made you the hero of every social function ever, and retroactively won World War I. Just give me the bloody recipe (or give it first, then write your magnum…
To be honest I like ‘80 music more now than I did when I was growing up (‘50, ‘60, and ‘70 was my “jam”). Probably something to do with time filtering and concentrating it.
I was born in 1973, I lost my tenuous grasp on pop-music with graduation in 1992. What little modern pop has made it into my awareness has failed to convince me there is any good music since the ‘80s.
No mention of the The Pirate Bay?
Sigh.....when I was a kid we had 9 planets, Tyrannosaurus Rex didn’t have feathers, the Brontosaurus was a dinosaur (actually I hear it is a dinosaur again, just not the dinosaur we thought it was), math was math not new math or new new math. Lets not even get started on history. It is no wonder the world is so…
My advice is to always buy a phone outright, why have that extra payment hanging around. Ideally buy last year (or even a 6 month old model). Often you can get them heavily discounted and will last for a good number of years.
I consider myself fortunate that my meetings don’t involve video. No one wants to know I haven’t gotten dressed and am playing games.
I am so glad my meetings don’t involve video. I’d have to get dressed.
VOD is a different business model than streaming, I’m pretty sure Amazon wasn’t the first, so if not copying Netflix then they are copying someone.
Because it is a good idea that they didn’t implement first? Does it really matter? Was Amazon copying Netflix when they started streaming, then started producing their own programming?
