Well the part that we don’t know about is how well MoviePass is doing selling data.  If they are then the $10 a month is a loss leader that leads to greater profit.  If not well guess it depends on how well the investor cash holds out.

If they would allow me to get 3 tickets to single showing - I’d sign up in a heartbeat. Not only that my friends would as well. Without that - well meh - still debating over MoviePass and convincing friends of going to the $6 matinee at a non-AMC theater.  We see fewer movies this way, and spend less on concessions -

Butter and steak knives get washed in the dishwasher.  I try to keep the prep knives out but it happens on occasion.  Usually a few strokes on the steel (I know this isn’t sharpening) and they are fine.

In my group someone buy the appetizer and shares, but ultimately they are buying it for them.

No, I am not from the midwest, nor were parents. But please explain what is “entitled” about people doing the jobs that they are being paid for. My bosses expect it of me in my job regardless of much more it complicates my workload, why shouldn’t I expect it of them in their job.

I guess that is a reason but personally I consider that part of their job that I am partially paying directly to them for, so it isn’t a factor to me.

Meh - unless the new owners of PocketCasts severely screw it up I’ll probably stick with it.

I’ve never understood the concept of splitting the bill with friends. In my group we all get separate checks and I don’t know why you would do otherwise. We have picked up the check for one another from time to time but never split a bill among the group.

I’ve come to the conclusion that tipping is such a terrible practice that I tip the same 15% for good or bad service (assuming it hasn’t risen to the level of saying something to management) - I just consider it an cultural part of the bill.

Which only means it can’t be used in a court of (US) law. The larger point is understanding that end-to-end encryption only “guarantees” that a message is received unread by anyone but the intended recipient. What becomes of the message beyond that depends on the person you are dealing with.

The shine has come off? I wasn’t aware - it has seemed to me they came, they and perhaps for most people are out of mind or if your me eagerly waiting for the next one.

No he gets cuts in half, falls down a shaft, and is presumed dead; then gets better.

Because it is useful and for most people it is the future. You don’t like it and don’t want one that is fine - just realize the majority of people are not jumping on the bandwagon with you.

I pretty much had the same opinion. I had been thinking about enabling to use it as a intercom about the house mostly.....but I think I’ll hold off till I can have a little more control over it.

Who knew the Onion every published an honest and true article. On the other hand the idea that 15% of coleslaw is eaten seem ridiculously high.

Given there is no such thing a good coleslaw, the only coleslaw you can make is bad :-P

Ultimately the advice is to protect yourself is good advice in general. My advice would be if your router is not on the list you probably don’t need to wipe your router (although it couldn’t hurt, you’ll just have to redo your configuration, which for most people is probably 2 minute inputting the SSID and WIFI

To be fair they are not yanking their content, they a letting the contract expire and for their content to come home.

One more reason for me to hope that Florida is successful in going to year round EDT.

Personally I don’t understand what people find scary in a “scary movie” anymore. I use to but at some point it just all stopped being scary and became emotional manipulation which I find annoying. I suppose all entertainment does this to some degree or another, I just don’t find scary to be scary anymore. But to each
