Hunting is not a luxury, it’s a natural trait for humans. We developed this in order to survive. Depending on others for sustenance is something civilization created. Some families must hunt in order to survive because they simply can’t afford to rely on others for their food.

Started with a 96 impreza L that got a WRX swap in 03, 95 brighton, 99obs, 00 RS and a 04 FXT with 235k with no HG issues. I make my money working on them and have been roadracing them for 15+ years. Yes, some had HG material issues. Subaru changed the part and it pretty much fixed the issue.

I’ve owned only subarus for the past 20 years. Sometimes I warm them up but not all the time. Some of them certainly had an issue but it’s way, way overblown.

My 04 FXT is just starting to seep at 235k.

I’ve had a 95, 96, 99, 00 and no real issues other than some weeping. The early gaskets were shit but the new ones are pretty good.

It’s possible the the vanes in the exhaust are from the hot side of the turbo. When the cold side eats a rag it could deflect it enough to contact the housing and shatter. Either way you’re popping the motor and doing damage control.

I’ve had a 96l, 99 OBS 00RS and presently DD a 235k mi. FXT and none of them have had HG issues. The only one that can get annoying on long drives is the RS because of the fixed back seat in it.

Yes, they work on snow tires. The rest is all BS. You shave race tires to shorten the tread block to reduce squirm and heat when you can’t run slicks. Slicks have the best traction because it’s one big block.
