It will never happen. Technology advances and companies will not waste resources developing for outdated hardware just for the small few that keep their cars forever. You should be happy they don’t start pulling an apple and throttling your tech without your knowledge to push you towards a new purchase.

In a world where your toaster has an internet connection you’ll have a long hard fight against it. People are buying wiretap devices for their home because walking to the computer, picking up your phone or grabbing a tablet is just too much effort. They did a great job acclimating us to tech.

I wouldn’t agree with that since many people avoid the stealership like the plague unless it’s warranty work. Having the option to install or wait, without constant reminders of the upgrade (looking at you apple) is fine. I’ve worked with computers pretty much my whole life and I do my best to wait for others to

I’ve been a resident my whole life. I’m well aware how crappy NJ taxes are.

I won’t even use a generation. Most humans are morons. Some are not. The smart ones learn from their mistakes. The dumb make excuses.

What’s even better is when we order parts from Rockauto because they’re cheaper and we can wait and they come from the same warehouse that delivers to us 5x a damn day.

Sorry, the ford taurus steering wheel killed it for me.

The SVX was from 91-96. The WRX was released in 92 with the questionable 5sp. They didn’t revise the 5sp until the SVX was out of production. The WRX was also lighter than the SVX so that lessened the strain as well. They knew the 5sp they had couldn’t handle it and could barley handle what the WRX put out. You are

Well, saying the torque was too much isn’t wrong. It couldn’t hold up to the forces of getting all that weight moving without exploding. Maybe they could get around it with gearing but then the acceleration would have suffered.

I’m know they can be an issue and YMMV. I’ve been lucky with my 00 RS (160k+) and my 04 FXT (230k+) that while they may be seeping, I’ve had no milkshakes in the crankcase yet. I can’t remember the last time we had a H6 in the shop for HGs though.

Yes, they had the EJ22T in the turbo legacy with a 5sp. We campaigned one in NASA-NE. The thing is the engine made 181@2800 with a tiny turbo. The EG33 made 228@4400. There are many reports of people with SVX 5sp swaps lunching transmissions because of the torque. I also know personally from using older 5sp

There were 2 in a driveway in my hometown. I also met someone local now that has one parked in his driveway with a bad transmission. It is possible to do a 5sp swap, not easy but possible. You can probably do a 6sp that would hold the torque better if you throw enough money at it.

Audi 5000 Turbo Diesel.

I may agree the best days of the Forester are over but certainly not subaru.

The FXT is the bisexual.

The H6 didn’t really have that problem. Also the revised gasket made it much less of an issue. The transmission on the SVX was a different story. Was great when it was working but as soon as it started slipping, time to sell the car.

The SVX wasn’t a sports car, it was a GT car. I had the pleasure of DD one for a while and it was fantastic. It has a special windshield that blocked EZPass so you had to hold it out the sunroof. It could easily do triple digits and with the help of a trans cooler you could track it as well. The auto trans was used

When I drove one I wasn’t all that concerned about the interior. Was much more concerned with the speedo.

Yup, they’re pretty cool. Got to drive a R32 today.

The dude with the pallet of paper off the back gate got a facefull of concrete. Ouch.
