My parents are slowly doing the same thing to their house. In my visits, I have also learned they are easy for toddlers to open who haven’t yet mastered regular door knobs

Bought a 2000 Silverado last year. Would have been nice to know that someone replaced the spare with a wheel that was just a tiny bit too small to fit around brakes. Luckily, I was in my driveway when I realized I had a flat, fitted the spare, and then went to drive only to have the wheel lock up on the brake caliper…
A loan is going to cost more than $100 per month. You usually don’t get more than one school break per month
Yep. I have a ‘00 Silverado with 230k miles that starts everytime and has never left me stranded (and it cost me less than this Nissan). I would trust it to drive across the country on a moments notice
I did have one, a 2005 Wrangler, but then last year some moron ran a red light and bent the frame. The insurance adjuster stopped counting at $10k in damage
Or I can just buy a $2,500 pickup to keep as a spare car. Does all the duties of a spare car and you win brownie points with everyone if you are willing to just hand over the keys. Want help moving? Well I am busy that weekend but here are the keys to the truck, have fun. Oh you need to go buy fencing to replacing…
I have a ~38 mile roundtrip commute plus other random errands and fill up ~12 gallons once a week. That’s 48 per month but I do more miles than average. 36 seems about right
From Google Maps this looks like a fairly developed area. I know it isn’t a cheap option (I am sure well into the 6 figures), but is it out of the question to have public water lines run through so no one is relying on a well?
I think a lot of people don’t understand what you are saying but I get it. Whereas a midsize sedan 10 years ago would have had a ~2.5l I4 and a ~3.5l V6, now you have a turbo 1.5 and 2.0. While they make more horsepower/torque, it isn’t as instant as it used to be which leads to that lethargic feeling
I know MOPAR offers lifetime warranties (for a price) that extends to Fiats. I wonder if they keep Alfa under this umbrella as well
I was in a similar situation. Jeep was totaled when some guy (in a pickup) ran a red light and bent the frame. Took the cash payout and bought a cheap pickup with plenty of cash leftover (both the Jeep and now the pickup are spare cars)
We used Precious Little Sleep as our sleep training guide and our little guy (18 months old now) usually sleeps 9-10 hours uninterrupted, so I would highly recommend listening to what she says
This was one of my favorite movies as a kid and I believe it was the first DVD I owned. Upon subsequent rewatches, I think the only part that doesn’t hold up is the jump at the end but I can deal with that
That ’99 Pathfinder was a defined, truckish, body-on-frame SUV with a solid rear axle
I buy 8 ft lumber all the time. It just sticks out over the top of the tailgate or you put it in diagonally (my bed is 6.5 ft)
The truck is my son’s favorite car in the fleet. Are you trying to deny him the opportunity to ride in it?!? (He is one and a half so I am pretty sure he isn’t allowed in the front seat of anything). Also, it gives me a weatherproof area to put stuff
They stopped making them in 2012. What rental car place uses 5 year old cars?
We actually do have a Liberty (2012). It is my wife’s DD and she loves it. We got it after a particularly bad winter where she had to repeatedly dig her Jetta out of the snow (snow tires don’t help when you are buried up to you headlights) whereas my Wrangler was able to just climb over the mound left by the plow…
I am with you. The long throws on my TJ were very satisfying and fit the character of the car
You will see a fairly significant gap in the pre-owned prices on Ram trucks compared to the Chevrolet/GMC 1500 series and F-150 models
