Reminds me of House of Leaves.
Reminds me of House of Leaves.
I have been such a goddamn sucker for these tweets. I know I’m being manipulated, but I can’t stop.
Is it possible these people are really just a shit-ton of ants operating a human suit?
It was my friend’s wedding in Savannah. I was a bridesmaid. The groom’s brother went up to my room with me, to “put some wine bottles in the fridge”. Then, he did the best thing someone has ever done to me: he helped me take out ever single bobby pin from my updo and then massaged my scalp. . . .
Hal is the best TV dad. Lost his corporate ‘80s career for his kids. Encourages their mischief. Tells them again and again why they should appreciate their mother. Constantly pleads with his boys to behave just enough to get by. Look no further than when his heart breaks because Dewey refuses to speak to him. His most…
I love Bob’s Burgers, especially the depiction of parenting by Bob and Linda. I adore how Linda is genuinely excited when her kids express themselves through music, fashion, erotic friend fiction, or whatever they dream up. Bob is generally laid back about his kids, and never tries to change who they are. My can still…
The best thing that ever happen to me was when we were dressed as Bob and Tina at comic con and Kristen Fuckin’ Schaal came up to me hugged me and said hey! look its my sister!”
As I’ve said before, this is where both the show and books have lost me. There’s no hope, which means I don’t give a single shit about any of the characters, which means I don’t care what happens and I’ll go watch/read something else.
I’m a librarian. We don’t care what you read—we’re just happy you’re reading. Promise :)

Q: How do you get down from an elephant?
We started chatting - they knew no taste
And I had put away
My leisure and some inches more
Of His Civility.
Because I could not come for dick picks
They kindly came for me
The screen held but just one penis
With functionality.
First she only pushes him off, and then it’s exactly one whack per approach, increasing in whack-force as he becomes more threatening.
I find it fascinating how feminism vacillates between denying any trace of anger in the movement (often, and ironically, in a fairly angry fashion), and making performative outrage the model for demonstrating one’s feminist credentials. Please don’t get me wrong - the wrongness of sexism does not hinge upon how nice…
The Pythons, while doing a tour in the US, were invited to trash their hotel room. Apparently the press for the hotels is really good, so they really enjoy it when that happens. And they, being British responded ‘Oh, no no no.’ The hotel owner kept insisting. Finally Michael Palin went into the bathroom and broke a…
Yeah, it’s chilling. I posted this in another thread, but it bears repeating:
It doesn’t work. And the more important question is whether we think justice is just a fancy word for punishment. I’m sure that some people believe that retribution is the right goal for a justice system. I’m not one of them.
As far as I can tell, the movies itself actually isn’t the biggest problem with Black Widow, though many did find the whole, “I’m a Monster because I can’t have kids” to be offensive. I personally didn’t interpret her conversation with Bruce Banner to mean that, anyway. The biggest problem with the Black Widow and why…
You know, I'm seeing a lot of cynicism. It's really hip to put down those types of people, but I'm not sure you completely understand the situations you speak of. I think, if there are places where people are begging for help, shouldn't you help them? But if everyone around you is poor, who will help you?
