90's Isuzu Impulse AWD Turbo. Even when new most people didnt know this car existed, yet for the 90s it was a AWD Turbo with 160HP, comparable to the Preludes and Integras at the time but with AWD.
The minivan. When we finally had enough money to buy a vehicle in 2005, I needed something that could haul: kids, diapers, wipes, home improvement, family, non-family, road trips. Maybe splurge on the flip down DVD player.
The answer is Suzuki Kizashi, right?
ONE. TIME. I hated the guy when he was racing but basing your entire perception of him after one event is unfair IMO. I’m more pissed about his JV attack. He takes no prisoners. And for the Monaco incident he was excluded from quali, IIRC. JV incident was also costly for him.
One thing I wouldn’t expect is much of a substantive update on Schumacher’s health.
My problem with them is that when compared to today’s cars, both muscle and average people movers, there is no comparison.
The brown manual diesel wagon
truck engine (I know its different, but is it really?)
Dividends are our friend. I own several stocks that have underperformed the market by a pretty wide margin but pay fantastic dividends. Royalty trusts are pretty fantastic in this regard. I’ll keep them as long as they keep paying out.
It’s not.
Not really a hot take, it’s absolutely a contributing factor. Demand for stocks has risen dramatically because of the reduced barriers to entry. Before the mid-90's, you had to know a guy (literally almost always a guy) and have $10k to invest at the bare minimum to start investing in the stock market outside of your…
I’m here to watch all of the people who don’t understand >half of the excerpts in first gear to start commenting on stock prices and market capitalization.
Everything about this is just, yes.
this is a guy who gets it. The problem is people who really want a Honda, but want to be seen in a Jeep. They just aren’t going to be happy. I looked a Wrangler for sale and the add proudly proclaimed the top had never been removed. Some people should be forced to walk everywhere.
They get enough hate here that no one on jalopnik thinks they’re over rated now.
The Wrangler is NOT over rated. I mean sure, a decked 0ut Rubicon topping $50k is...well..excessive. But a standard Wrangler Sport, Willys or maybe Sahara (if you need more comfort features) is a great “one quiver” vehicle.
Car culture is plagued by tribalism and cargo cult mentality, so I’m not surprised that enthusiasts would be turned off by certain brands and models.
I just now scrolled thru the original post comments, and I’m honestly shocked at the lack of Tesla hate. I feel like at least a few dozen comments in every article about them has the word “overrated” somewhere in there.
I have a feeling most people here aren’t car enthusiasts: they just like certain cars.
