Hmmm, appears my response questioning how hosting a race in Florida constitutes “horrible human rights violations” was taken down, aka censored.

1st: Stupid is as stupid does. Elon is in many respects a genius, but his reliance on endless hype will catch up to him - if it isn’t already. NHSTA is 100% correct on this one. Calling something “Full Self Driving” when it clearly isn’t is asking for disaster.
WTF? How does this count as “horrible human rights violation?”
There’s a video somewhere of Motor Trend’s Jonny Lieberman driving this nutmobile. “Street legal” in the loosest possible terms. Incredibly loud, woefully useless around town and absolutely wonderful.
Depends on what you’re looking for. 996s are a great value right now, but you won’t get the performance or dynamics (nvm the interior quality) of a modern car. It’s a modern classic. Nothing wrong with that, just depends on taste.
Good answer, didn’t think of that. The F-Type S is a sweet driver and the R absolutely rips. A bit like a slightly heavier, slightly worse handling, sexy looking, more luxurious British Corvette actually...
It reads like his buyer’s remorse is less about the C8 and more about the $80-90k he’s likely shelling out for it
Some actually prefer the early V8s for a few reasons. They’re lighter than the V10s, some people think they sound better, you can get a manual gearbox. Plus the handling balance is superb.
Hard to argue much with this one. Would give him a different experience vs the C8, then he can try a Vette in a few years. Amazing thing to drive IMHO.
Yeah, the hate seems to be about the looks, no manual and no Toyota-developed engine more than how it drives, though some criticize its manners for being a bit too GT/luxury coupe and not enough sports car. Haven’t driven one myself, though. FWIW I think it’s a striking car, if not a traditionally pretty one.
$60k is looking at a higher mileage 997.2 or a 997.1, Porsche prices currently being on Molly. GREAT car IF you can find one in good condition at that price with its more notorious issues sorted out
There’s no reason to buy a contemporary sedan or wagon if it’s not your primary car. Why sacrifice performance, fun, looks etc. to practicality if you don’t have to? Most performance sedans or wagons - and I’ve driven some of the very best - inevitably add weight, raise the center of gravity, and dull the sensations…
Can someone please just design a classy, straightforward truck that looks tough and business-like without being roided up?
Agreed. The grille is waaaaay too much.
Haven’t been to most of these, but here’s my bucket list:
Depends on how you define “better”:)
By her logic we shouldn’t want the following vehicles either:
Or maybe both the Challenger and the e-pickups represent different things we can be proud of about America. IMHO it’s not a contradiction to admire the boldness and Yankee ingenuity represented by Rivian while also respecting the loud-and-proud, wide-open-road, big and brash for the hell of it aspects of American…
Pretty much. The car is just a totem for what could be an Ibram Kendi seminar speech.
What a bunch of ignorant, boho-Marxist drivel - especially the attempt to connect a car to white supremacist groups. Ever seen the Mopar guys roll up at the local cars and coffee? They’re way more diverse (at least here on the East Coast) than your identity studies class likely was. Tons of black and Latino guys drive…
