I agree with you, but part of the Prius’s appeal HAS been to advertise that one was driving a hybrid and saving the plane TBH. This is why swarms of them were crawling around the west side of LA shortly after the second-gen car came out. Most of those people switched to Teslas once they realized they could eco-pose

This is but the latest example of Toyota’s design studio being provocative for the sake of being provocative. The current Prius is guilty of the same move. It’s like the girl who dressed as blandly as possible for years deciding to look fashionable by copying pre-feminist-meltdown Katy Perry.

What I’m saying is, I’m sure he’s a nice guy and all, but his pay coming in mostly equity only further increases his ownership of the means of production, and labor is entitled to all it creates.”

Disagree - leadership, the culture it sets, and the decisions that result can make or break a company.

1st gear: the comments here seem clueless as to what top execs actually do, as if any Joe Blow off the street could do their job.

Looks like it wants to punch you in the face....but a good high performance sedan like an E63 S has most of the menace (in the right color) while offering WAY more performance, handling, and driver entertainment for a similar price.

Same. No trouble other than the OEM battery (which is a known pile of crap).

Anyone else notice how quickly our civil servants seem to forget the principles embedded in our constitution when they spot opportunities to grab revenue?

Playing devil’s advocate here - but if you listen to car enthusiasts (particularly those who really like one particular car or brand) doesn’t the new version ALWAYS SUCK or so they say?

This IMHO is the only anti-new-WRX complaint (other than vagaries of tuning the current engine) that has a real good point. Subaru has let their performance offerings lag, no doubt. They’re still good cars, but look at the power/performance of the WRX and STi versus other performance cars (e.g. Mustang GT, VW GTI,

What about people who use them as both? I’m fine with my weekend toy having nothing besides a steering wheel, pedals, gearshift and seats....but my WRX isn’t just a weekend toy. Judging by the number of WRXs and STIs I see on the morning commute, I am definitely not alone.

Exactly. There are no real performance or driver involvement benefits to be had in leaving off interior features. The only real benefit is to your wallet.

Bingo. Like it or not, the WRX sits in the VW GTI’s turf (ditto the Focus ST, Hyundai i30/Veloster N. People (including me) cross-shop them. It’s also knocking on the doors of Mustangs and Camaros, which despite the rep don’t have crack house interiors anymore. And there are always those lease deals on A3s, CLAs, etc.

I DD a new WRX. I like a raw, raucous car...but it’s hard to DD a car when “raw” and “raucous” mean “cheap-ass interior parts that rattle incessantly and/or melt in hot sunlight.” or “seats that have terrible bolstering and can’t hold up to wear and tear” or “OTT wind/tire roar in a car not intended to be a

PM has plans to get into pot in a big way. They won’t be going anywhere soon, particularly when combined with high smoking rates in their Asian markets.

What good is all that luxury when your kids’ friends are terrified of a van that looks like a giant white 4-wheeled incarnation of Immortan Joe from Mad Max:Fury Road?

1.) Is getting offended over someone not driving American cars actually a thing anymore outside Detroit? Is it even a thing in Detroit anymore? I live in the South and have never run into this.

This is correct. New Volvos play up the stereotype of “higher-end home architect” in the same way that dark jackets/turtlenecks, expensive designer glasses, and modernist furniture do. Tasteful and a little subtle, but just offbeat enough for someone to think they are getting someone different.

!!!!!!!

It has lots of JDM in it
