Good (weather appropriate) Tires (plus 4WD or AWD) can handle slush without too much issue. If it’s 20-30 degrees out, then yeah; Salt can turn Ice into not-ice, and then you don’t have to deal with ice on the roads. But if you’re driving on “unfixed roads”, Ice is significantly worse then slush.
If you end up in water while in your car, and you can’t get the window down; take off your headrest and use the metal spikes to break your window... it will be much easier then punching it with your bare hands
