Thank you for this article Riley. My church jumped into it with both feet - they’re ironing out the technical problems more and more each week and they’ve been doing a great job. Something along the lines of it looking better, but ruined some parts of the original game.  Apparently.

The “standard” amount of worked hours in a year is 2080 (40 hours a week times 52 weeks) - so yeah, it would be like doing it as a full time job for a whole year.  The game’s been out since 2001 though, so if you played a few hours every week for that entire time you’d be there.  It’s still crazy to think about.
