A 48oz bottle of Tide is 6 cups which works out to 288 teaspoons. New HE front loaders only use 1tsp per load. It takes about a year for me to use up that bottle. Even if I was using a scant tablespoon in a top loader, I'd only go through one of those Costco mega jugs of detergent.
Use tomato powder instead. It stays fresh indefinitely in your fridge. Amazing on popcorn. Caramelizes real fast. Great for thickening sauces and soups. No canned metallic flavor. No preservatives.
