Yeah that article grossed me out so much. But most of all, it grossed me out because of the insane level of privilege the editorial staff of the New Yorker assumes. Like hahaha *we’re* not the predators, we’re the intellectuals! Fuck them for giving Gay Talese a platform for this tripe, and fuck him for not turning

I don’t get it. None of this is good.

All these “intermittent house calls from the police over violent domestic disputes.” Will we ever live in a world where police take domestic violence seriously? Before it escalates enough to kill someone? It seems like most of the senseless murders we hear about (at offices, malls, homes, anywhere, affecting anyone)

I will honor your genius for the rest of my life.

Actually, I’ve read some *amazingly* feminist comments over at Deadspin. It’s impressed me as a place where people are comfortable with themselves, sensible, and kind. And they love sports and all things sports. They remind me of my brother. I will never join their fantasy football league, but I love them dearly.

Why are you even talking about how their first action should’ve been to call the police when their first action WAS to call the police?

Oh fuck off. How does anyone over age 12 not know that? You just happened to stumble over a murder story on Jezebel and gee whiz ... blah blah blah.

You’re a huge fucking part of the problem. And you’ve totally trivialized this woman’s murder. Shut up. Just shut up. Nothing you think is true. Just shut the fuck up and go finish your manifesto.

Yeah, super clumsy writing! If only one of our generation’s greatest writers had written it.

hahahahahahaa what woman would EVER mention such a fear to someone like you? You would be the type she’d be most afraid of. You’re creepy as fuck.

You just read an article about a woman who was afraid enough to talk to her supervisor. And then she was murdered by the guy she complained about. Then you read dozens of comments from women complaining of this fear. So you’ve never once heard that?

“laugh at” not “reject.” And I think that says it all about your reading comprehension skills.

Can you go find someone to explain the quote to you? Like a librarian or something? Maybe your mom?

No I do not you this is fair to say.

It’s not a meme. It’s a quote from a famous author. And it doesn’t at all imply anything about all men, that’s just your willful misreading of it.

“considering that every man gets rejected about 30,000 times”

ARE YOU SERIOUS? Of course women have been afraid for their lives when rejecting a man. If it’s man you don’t know well or man you do know and have reason to be afraid of, YES. How are you not getting this?

No, it’s just implying that all women are capable of laughing at you.

Pretty sure the actual rapist is who allowed other people to be victimized, but you do you.

You have the subjunctive exactly wrong. “Can”is the correct tense, as in it “can sometimes” be deadly. That’s the present/future subjunctive.
