Thanks! I started with "Exit Flagger" and was hooked instantly. Looking forward to hearing more.

Holy shit, can't believe I'd never heard of this band before. Just downloaded the self-titled and that mix of heavy, poppy and sludgy is indeed potent. Will probably have this album in heavy rotation for a while - thanks for the recommendation!

I like Mirror Ball, which is the album Neil Young recorded with Pearl Jam as his backing band. Doesn't come anywhere near most of the albums he recorded with Crazy Horse, but there are a few good rockers on there ("Downtown", "Song X"). And Merkin Ball complements it quite nicely.

They call your neighbor's mom mophandlemama…

For me the "weird" tracks are one of Vitalogy's greatest strengths, as the combination of somewhat experimental tracks and more-straightforward-yet-very-solid rock songs makes for a much more interesting and eclectic listen from start to finish than any of the other Pearl Jam albums I've heard.

If this 60-minute set were burned to a CD-R, "Hey Foxymophandlemama, That's Me" would work perfectly as the weird "hidden track" at the end of the mix after a bit of silence.

A while back I was trawling the bargain bins and came across a Radiohead CD titled Hail and Backtrack, purportedly a promo-only CD released by EMI Australia in 2003. It has the Parlophone and EMI Australia logos on the back cover and on the CD itself but the logos are blurry, especially on the CD. The cover art is

Damn fine custard!

Time to clear my throat, push my glasses up my nose and point out that Casino came out twenty years ago, not twenty-five.

First the dude's well-written and researched Permanent Records article on LL Cool J's Radio a few days back gets all but buried and ignored under a bunch of "Great Job, Internet!" crap, and now this article gets thrown into that steaming pile?

Another in-depth, interesting, informative article of the very kind that got me into the habit of hanging out here in the first place. Another "Great Job, AV Club"!

And I'm in the basement thinking about the government.

Now that's the kind of article I had hoped to see more of this week. Better late than never; great job, AV Club!

Penelope Spheeris directed both Wayne's World and The Decline Of Western Civilization trilogy, and therefore should be included on any list of important directors, period.

It'll all make sense in a minute:

I wish I hadn't stuck the stickers that came in the box in a crappy little sticker book.

I can't speak for everyone here, but I think the problem was not so much with devoting an entire week to Star Wars-related articles, but that it was done rather poorly. Two feature articles were essentially the same thing ("why the prequels are good") and two others were about movies that have nothing to do with Star
