That’s true, but artists and game designers also aren’t the victims of crunch the same way the coders are. Their work is usually mostly done by the time crunch rolls around, and while they may be asked for a little extra they’re definitely not (in my experience) working 70 hours a week or more.

You can read my reply to Ka Mai for more details, but actually yes, literally any game dev worth their salt can quit their job for a better paying and easier to do job coding for corporation level proprietary software.

It’s unfortunate that all the developers for the game were kept in hamster cages and only fed bread and water, without pay, for the duration of their employment making the game, I agree.
