Attorney/client privilege can only be waived by the client, not the attorney.  As I’ve now discovered, Trump waived the privilege so Cohen is free to release whatever is the subject of the waiver.

These tapes were seized by the FBI and a special master was appointed to go through them to determine what was in fact covered by privilege, because, to your point, lots of stuff that was seized may not have been privileged. Why is it that Cohen can release these tapes?  Aren’t they covered by attorney/client privilege?  As much as I despise Trump and would like to see something lead to his downfall, I don’t understand that aspect of what is going on here.
