I’ve been thinking about riding myself; i.e. whether it’s an *acceptable* means of social distancing. I suppose until they begin stopping us on the streets and sending us home, like in Italy, why not? My favorite rides are miles from anyone else, and the fewer people the better! The worst part of any ride for me has

I just bought my first bike at the beginning of the year. It’s in storage at the moment, because I live in Chicago and early spring weather is the very definition of fickle, and I desperately want to ride it right now.

I’m finishing up the MSF course this week (with a very low number of people in it, worth the risk), and I’m getting some warranty work done on my motorcycle. Next week I’m finally going to have the unlimited freedom you currently enjoy. I am so looking forward to it.

I can’t telework right now, but the brightside has been the commute. It’s been glorious in both the Cayman AND on the XSR.

I’m still dodging the weather a bit here, but I’ve had my bike out a few times despite lowish temperatures. It feels great, somehow the feeling of freedom has been enhanced by the restrictions. Pumping gas I used nitrile rubber gloves and paid at the pump. My leather gloves don’t need viral contamination or the gas

For the record, this thing is spreading rapidly and widely. You don’t have a tiny chance of getting it, but a pretty big one. Some experts have predicted it’ll be contracted by between 40 and 70 percent of the world’s population.

Do they sell actually state these features are a one time charge, or is it a periodic service fee? Becuz I bought a different used car from a dealer, and it had Sirius radio when I bought it, but almost exactly 90 days later, it went away.

It has less equipment than the much more expensive FTR1200S, but the same level of equipment as the base model. I’m sorry that wasn’t clear.

Excellent question considering the crap they sell for kids cars (plastic wheels, cheap bodies, etc.) isn’t much cheaper than Jason’s EV. I’m guessing we’re paying more for the licensing of the body than anything. I wouldn’t mind paying a few hundreds for a kids-sized, speed limited EV with proper wheels and a roll

I already liked how the FTR1200 looked but DAMN, the Rally version is much sharper and love it.

Ya, that’s totally unacceptable. I prob don’t get a whole lot better mileage on my zx-14, but it has an appropriately sized tank at 5.8 gal.

Damn, I thought my ‘97 Valkyrie had bad range! My first big ride was when I bought it off of my best friend (I talked him into buying it) about 12 or so years ago and he had taken it from Az to Miami and I rode it back. It was during T-giving and I was worried about running out of gas somewhere, but it did just fine.

Yeah, I’m definitely interested in the more retro stylings, and being 6'3 it’s hard to find something that I fall in love with the look of while still being comfortable when I sit on it.

The Bronx is a 975cc streetfighter/naked bike. I think that’s pretty close to the FTR?

It is a very handsome bike. For some reason I kept thinking of the DRZ400sm while reading this, maybe because of the versatility of both bikes. I know its a really antiquated bike, but I would love to read your take on the 2020 model.

Why is it more expensive than base model when it has less equipment? Is spoke wheels much more expensive than cast wheels?

This was the year I was finally going. I can’t fault them at all; it’s a small island with a single hospital, even a small outbreak of serious cases could easily overwhelm. But man, what a gut punch.

When the Isle of Man TT organizers say something is dangerous, it’s really fucking dangerous.

You had me until you said the thing couldn’t even top 100 miles on a tank.

With a 3.4-gallon tank, I found I could really only reliably go 90 miles or so on a tank.
