Gawd... I do it too! It's like we want to not offend people. It's akin to the "I'm not racist, but" offensive stuff.

At camp (20 years ago) we always used a can of chocolate frosting because it was cheaper! Now it's all I use.
Where do you get your 38I's? I need to find an actual brick and mortar store to get some.
Yep. My sister was one of those. DREADED going to visit her because of the her improv group.
Campfire Girls for life! Ok, I quit in middle school, but god wasn't stressed AT ALL and we did all the fun stuff. No sashes, we wore vests. Which was AWESOME because you had so much more room for patches! You also got beads for something (candy sales?) and you'd make cool patterns sewing them on.

The fact that polio is still a standard vaccination that all responsible parents get their children? Or the fact that the parents actually were not rabid anti-vaxxers?
As a depressed teen my mom's standards for me (on the weekend) were 'You have to be wearing a bra.' Since I was a DD at 15 and hated to get out of jammies it was a reasonable compromise. I looked like a slob, but at least the jubblies were contained.
Except FAS is pretty obvious in babies. And even knowing wouldn't help a ton except for being in therapy to learn to deal with it and eventually get on meds. One FAS girl I knew finally was old enough for lithium when she was a teen and... Ugh... It's all such a mess. Where it fell apart for Denise is that the boys…
Shandy is with lemonade I thought?
