I'm gonna make a case for the back-to-back rape. The importance was showing how Pennsatucky responded to the rape.

I'll go one further, and say that I think its one of the strongest episodes of the series to date.

I LIKE SOSO

I MISS HER SO MUCH IT HURTS.

Her flashback utterly fails in trying to make her sympathetic either, which is clearly what I think the writers were trying to achieve. Piper may be the worst, but Aleida is definitely a NOT so distant second.

I had to take a break. This episode left me emotionally drained and unsettled. Definitely couldn't keep binging.

I'm gonna say something a bit controversial, but I don't think Laverne Cox is the best actress if I'm being honest. I appreciate the diversity and representation she brings with her story and perspective and I'm loving how she uses her platform to push for trans rights and visibility. It goes without saying, but it's

I defended the Sansa scene, but you just laid out a fantastic job about why this is a completely different situation.

It was such a subtle change on the part of Taryn Manning. You can literally just see the switch flip in Pennsatucky's face during rape, where's she gone from horror at trying to stop to just accepting it in order to get it over with.

Yeah. It was definitely a bit of a train wreck in motion that you had no power to stop. You knew last episode after watching that uncomfortable doughnut scene and forceful kiss where this heading, and it was heartbreaking to watch it unfold, knowing that Pennsatucky was just too naive to know what was gonna happen

This was by far my favorite episode of the season as well as the most difficult for me to watch. Enough that I had to stop binging and take a break. It was also the episode that made me truly realize how strong Taryn Manning is an actress, having previously written her off amongst the otherwise incredibly strong

Maybe she picked up her accent from her dad or where she lived. I'm not very good with placing American accents, but Nicky's seems to be from New York? It's very possible her parents moved there for a job or something before Nicky was born.

Coming right out with the Soso love? That's a bold move, but I respect it and agree with it.

Was it just me, or did anyone else feel as if the show was trying to highlight that Chang was actually lonely but had just accepted her place in Litchfield at this point?

Ehh, Rosa would like to have a word with you:
"You are a very rude person."

I already dislike doughnut guy.

So this was the point where I became convinced we weren't seeing Nicky for the rest of the season. Now I've watched the entire season so I won't comment on whether I was right or not, but I'd be curious to see what other people think.

I hate to be that dick, but Nate Reuss's album gets reviewed and Florence + The Machine's new album hasn't gotten reviewed yet?

I definitely see your point there, and maybe that's what the writers were going for, but I may have to disagree. With a character as important and popular to Nicky to see her shipped off so quickly was just jarring to me.

Very true. Nicky was shipped off to max in the span of 3 minutes or so. Literally.
