I think it did. Mind you, I haven't watched the whole of Book 2 in a while, but I think it colors Unalaq's motivation to release Vaatu in retrospect as well as explaining how he came to know about Wan, Raava and Vaatu.

I give this episode an A solely because it retroactively made Unalaq a more interesting villain and explained his incredibly muddled motivations more thus improving Book 2 slightly in hindsight.

Some incredibly biting lyrics on that album. Merry Go Round is my favorite deconstruction of typical small town life. Perfectly encapsulates how claustrophobic it can be.

I'd agree that Parks had a weaker than usual season (or at least that seems to be the consensus here)

I'd have liked to have seen a nod for Colbie Smulders. She did some great work this season. Who can resist a grungy Robin Sparkles.

Happy surprises:

I was so surprised and happy when I saw Tony Hale, and more importantly, Anna Chlumsky. Great to see some recognition.

Clarke is talented. Her S1 arc alone proves that fact. And, you seem to go for superlatives quite quickly. You might not like her, but to go as far as to say that she's talented, is an overreaction to say the least.

What are peoples' problem with Emilia Clarke??? She's a young up-and-coming, fresh faced actress, and she's done great work on the show.

Ehh Q&A could go toe-to-toe with any Americans episode…however I agree. I really thought they'd grab a nomination. Keri and Jonathan were great.

I'm willing to agree with you. I too think that Big Bang had probably it's best season yet, with Howard's intervention episode being a genuinely good episode by comedy standards as opposed to Big Bang standards…

One of the nicest surprises along with Tony Hale. Happy that Veep got some more acting nods. The entire cast is just stellar, but Anna is really top notch.

I completely agree. It's by no means an excuse, but she's still relatively fresh faced (only just out of drama school) as opposed to a lot of the other cast members who've had plenty for jobs to keep honing their craft. I can only see Clarke getting better with time.

Seriously !??! No mention of:

@avclub-56dfc41867dc4d05e285222c24c4e7c2:disqus Completely fucking agree. This show has seen a fuckton of deaths, but that was the most underwhelming death they might have ever done. Fucking Lorena got a better death that he did. LORENA ?!?!

That's a better end-of-episode cliffhanger than whatever the fuck that Lilith bullshit was.

Cannibalism and crazy orgies…

"Angel" kinda did it, although it can sort of be excused considering Connor was in an alternate dimension. Anyway, it's clear that the only reason they did it was to avoid having to deal with a baby.

Sweet Baby Jesus, No nominations overflow for Modern Family. This truly is the best timeline.

She's unbelievably good on Miranda. Totally nails the upper-middle class archtype, and I thought she did an uncannily good impression of a Finn
