I wrote the headline. It accurately reflects how surprised I was when I saw the engine picture. lol

As I was typing this a little voice in my head was going “Hey Sid, you have a 1960's GM big block V8 and it starts every time you turn the key and has for the last 25 years. And that VW engine is probably reliable, too. I’ll bet a bunch of people will start up with you in the comments...”

Let’s be fair. They replaced it with new MUCH MORE unreliable running gear that will be far more difficult and expensive to repair.

Actually Sid, the SBC with a 3 speed auto or a 4 speed manual was very reliable and easy to work on in the rare instances it failed. the VW TDI never enjoyed that kind of reputation.

I am truly impressed at this ambitious project to take a truck with old, often unreliable, running gear and replace it with new, often unreliable, running gear.

I think GM should blow the dust off this concept, drop the body onto an electric platform and slap a GMC badge on it (since GMC is doing the electric Hummer as well.)

I’ve always liked this 1993 Chevy Highlander concept. Even though it looks like something The Joker would take off roading with that combination of green and purple.

I fucking love my old man Buick Regal Sportback. It’s fast with a tune, running a 5 sec 0-60.  It gets 32 mpg at 90 mph.  I just got a 30% discount off of MSRP in Dec.

While I agree that it’s cool, they’d struggle to sell a dozen each year. And maybe move a baker’s dozen in a good year.

That’s a great looking vehicle. If it had a different badge, no one would be ragging on it.

Hell no.  Toll roads just privatize the profit from public infrastructure.

I drove across Oklahoma where the “fast option” was toll roads.

But it seems like every time some bill comes up to improve some other form of transit, there is opposition who fight it because funding is coming out of the general fund and user fees should be pay for the cost of it.  That always seems to be ignored for roads.

Where do you think your food comes from and how do you think it reaches you?

Or just use general taxation to pay for spending rather than do either of those things that are also regressive. If you really want target the rich, target new cars.

But a S2K with a whole hundred grand under the hood of that car...

Gas guzzler is only paid on new cars at the moment. Buying used wouldn’t increase the tax burden on anyone.

I thought the movies were for yaoi-porn fangirls, if that wasn’t the intended market then they really lucked out on that one.

The general consensus over car forums/other auto sites is that the Supra was a great car, but no one really paid attention to it until the film came out. I remember seeing a Supra at the Toyota dealer with a friend who said he wanted one, but picked up a new Corolla instead. I always found the 300ZX Z32 to be much

I would’ve liked Tran in a Mustang. It would’ve made sense to put the villain in a car that’s incongruent with the theme of the film and the hero cars. I picture him in something like a Foxbody SVT Cobra
