This site is full of hive minded idiots. Remember years of comments about the black plastic interiors of Cadillacs? Now that Lincoln is doing black plastic, suddenly its the charm of the automotive world according to Jalopnik comments.

The STS was a midsize, RWD sedan. The DTS was a full size, FWD sedan. The XTS followed the latter more.
Everyone is enamored with the new SUVs Lincoln is making, which do look great, that no one here will buy, and somehow that immediately means Lincoln is winning. Before the Aviator, everyone here shat in Lincoln just as much.
Not going to lie, I only want RWD luxury cars so I can still pull the ABS fuse and do big smoky burnouts.
With that coming from an enthusiast, and since we know that the opposite of what enthusiasts want is what actually sells, looks like Cadillac will maintain its lead over Lincoln.
Cadillac Nomenclature:
Thank you for this testimonial. I am likely one of the only sub-40 year olds in the country cross-shopping a 300 C with an XTS as my next purchase, this is extremely helpful as I was leaning toward an AWD XTS.
They are carrying out their naming scheme change. All the letter identified cars are going away to be replaced by the number names (CT# and XT#)
I have such an affinity for the XTS that I just can’t explain. I am in the market for a large-ish sedan - I love the idea of a serene, comfortable cruiser to eat up the highway miles. I know I am in the minority (especially given my sub-40 age) but I have no desire for harsh, low-profile tires, insane skidpad g…
RIP. I’ll admit I’ve always been partial to the looks of the XTS. It didn’t try to be faux-Euro, it was a big American highway cruiser, and a luxurious one at that. A sport sedan it was most definitely not. Now I’ll have to hope for one as an occasional Uber ride.
I would never want to own one, but the back seat isn’t a bad place for a ride to the airport. Huge improvement over the old panther platform cars that used to dominate the space.
Stepmom has a CT6,and it honestly got my interest in Cadillac piqued again.
I’ve pointed this out a million times. Not that I’m a Caddy fanboi but facts seem to get washed over by how people “feel” here in these woods.
The XTS was around for 7 years after taking over from the DTS. It was a dumb name change, but this is the one segment they’ve been consistent in other than the Escalade.
Cadillac still outsells Lincoln by a significant margin.
I also purchased a certified 2014 Lincoln MKS from a Lincoln dealership. This was in early 2017. I paid $21,900 for it, and it had 29,000 miles.
Can you get an Impala with air conditioned seats? That's one reason. I've lived in the south too long and A/C seats are the business.
I had an XTS rental earlier this year. Had it for a week and a bit over 1,000 miles. It road tripped like nothing else save possibly an Avalon.
I asked the owner and he said he was able to make a case of the car itself being rare. He also said that the rare car had to be equipped with some sort of special Tech and He argued MIVEC as the Special tech that the rare car had to offer.
