I’ve heard from people that have seen the clay model that it actually looks awesome. My hopes are definitely up!

Don’t museums do it all the time? The Henry Ford Museum in Michigan has an Oscar Mayer Weinermobiles.......They charge admission.

The “what’s under the tarp isn’t super important” meant what matters is the shape, which is more-or-less what we should expect to see in the production model. That’s the point of this teaser.

Whether it’s clay or a test mule or whatever, is what the Ford rep was saying doesn’t matter.

The continental DOES feel like an s-class though. Or 7series, or LS, or A8. It’s already punching above its weight.

The third gen is ugly and more expensive

Sales dipped because the CTS went from a tweener car that was somewhere between compact and midsize, with a reasonable price, to a full midsizer aimed at taking on the Germans, with a price tag to match. But because of Cadillac’s bad residuals, it can’t offer the same lease deals as the Germans, and typically has to

Where are the sales stats that show fleet sales?

Yeah, the new Navigator has all the same luxury features, maybe more, of the Continental. There is a question, then, of why someone would buy a Conti over a Navigator. In other words, Lincoln is competing against itself in the limo market.

That “quiet luxury” approach is actually selling amazingly well in the new Navigator.

This. Johan was stupid and upsized the CTS for the 3rd gen, and upsized the price too. It went from being a nice all around car that slotted in-between the 3 and 5 series to a large car with a high pricetag.

I don’t think Lincoln needs to go fast. I think it needs to go big. THAT’S Lincoln’s historical angle.

I disagree. Trying to be BMW or Mercedes hasn’t worked for Cadillac.

It’s not a toomah Fusion

Thanks, I did not know that. Is this platform like VW’s MQB? The MQB underpins a lot of vehicles, including Audis, and, if I remember correctly, the primary shared characteristic is the distance from the front wheel to firewall. My point being that the idea of a platform can be pretty flexible.

Didn’t the 3rd gen get a price bump since de Nysshen thought that Cadillacs should be just as pricy as the Germans? And wasn’t 2015 the intro of the ATS which I’m sure stole some of the low-end buyers from the CTS? Still, 2017 was a shitty year for the CTS.

When people asked me what my favorite new car was at least years New York auto show I said the Continental. Reactions ranged from profoundly disturbed to genuine amusement. And no matter how much I tried to sell the concept car interior, the refreshingly understated exterior design and the best god damn door handles

I had one as a company car and put approx 20k miles on it. It was a Black Label so it had everything, and the stereo and seats were outstanding. The all wheel drive was responsive, but probably a second slower than I would have liked.

However, the design of the car turned a lot of heads where I live. It’s a land of

What is killing cars?

Great styling and design always wins.
