Khan was my MP when I lived in Tooting (yes, that is the real name of the neighbourhood). He helped me with an immigration matter, and he raised my view of what a politician can do and be. He definitely had a good reputation in Parliament advice well, but I think he got on everybody’s radar during the campaign for

An entire government saying they accidentally double-booked a hair cutting appointment and that they were so sorry would be a most deliciously British way of telling him to fuck off

(Did you mean US in that first comment or have I completely misread what we’re talking about?)

Apparently he’s thinking of cancelling on us because he’s worried about the public reaction. He should be. This tweet stream gives you a good idea of the general view of him here:

“Why this [DNC] convention is better: It’s about loving America. GOP convention was about loving Trump. If you didn’t love Trump, it offered nada.”

— Jonah Goldberg (as in hardcore conservative columnist Jonah Goldberg)

He’d get off on playing the victim. If I had a say it would be to ignore him. Bury it with logistical concerns and rescheduling and hair washing excuses. Get enough countries to give him the silent treatment so he can’t actually go anywhere while the news hammers him for essentially being blown off time and time

I’ve got to acquire that healthy mindset, because I just feel sick and have to stop reading. I sure as hell don’t post or reply. These “upright citizens” are sounding dangerous AF!

Though I’d DEARLY love to hear what Prince Phillip might say if he met Trump.

Same. Even before the election, actually.

My family doctor compared the Trump administration to being strapped into a car with a drunk driver at the wheel, and there’s no way out. I agree. He says that, other than the general allergies and bronchitis that’s going on, Trump is his patients’ biggest concern. This is not good.

The thing that really hurts looking back at 2016 is that bad-ass Democratic convention and realizing it wasn’t enough.

After the attacks, my nextdoor.com site was exploding with Black-And-Brown-People Panic. Suddenly my Small White City thinks its London or Paris.

At this point I hope he does. He basically gifted the ACLU (or whoever is going to be arguing against the ban in the Supreme Court) their argument. All they have to do is print out his tweets.

He’s a genius. If only Americans weren’t so afraid of brown people maybe we could have more Muslim leadership in the states. People are still trying to bringing up his past links to al-Muhajiroun, but it seems to be a transparent smear campaign. I only hope we have leadership like Mayor Khans during the U.S. next

Yes! That’s seriously the perfect analogy (and also explains why I haven’t wanted to see my own asshole BIL since the election).

Donald Trump is every other world leader’s asshole brother-in-law.

This post made my day. Way to mayor, Mayor Khan!

Is there, like, some kind of “Khan family” conspiracy to make Donald Trump look like a jerk?

I don’t want trump visiting America.
