I love this place. I’ve been here for years and I intend to be here no matter what happens. This whole thing just makes me ill. I feel legitimately nauseous.

He is on a show where most of the time he is clothed and women on the show are naked. There are tons of female actresses on the show that don’t have lines and are naked for a whole scene.
The key here, as another commenter pointed out, is that there’s a difference between complaining about objectification on one hand, and comparing the way that men are objectified in our culture to the way that women are, as though they’re remotely comparable.
Here’s an idea. Don’t confuse objectification and sexism.
The lesson is that everyone has it worse than white dudes ... so they should shut up about inequality.
Jesus you use a lot of commas.
I swear to dog, if you dig down into these attitudes it always boils down to a modern day ducking. A woman, even if the only reason you know her name is because she was the victim of a crime, is only truly innocent if she dies. If she lives, she’s still a witch and it’s somehow all her fault.
2016 America: Where a 12-year old boy is shot and killed by the police for playing with a toy and it’s his fault because he should have “known” that people would see him as a threat, while a full-grown adult who rapes an unconscious woman and tries to flee should only have to endure a couple months of jail because…
Thank you. Two things can be true— we can acknowledge that this is more than most rapists get, while maintaining that it is insufficient. Additionally, I would argue that he WAS coddled, and the judge WAS lenient, because he’s a rich white kid, drenched in privilege. Let’s be real, black and brown rapists would never…
The Daily Beast said Persky “coddled” Turner; the petitioners said the sentence was “lenient.” Yet they’re both wrong. The truth is that Brock Turner will spend more time in jail than 97 percent of rapists.
That’s all the son thinks he did wrong too. He blames binge drinking and sexual promiscuity. Wonder where he got that.
I drank a shit ton of wine last night and I managed not to rape anyone.
“By having people like Brock educating others on college campuses is how society can begin to break the cycle of binge drinking and its unfortunate results.” - holy shit, does he really think the only lesson anyone should take away from this is not to binge drink??? How about DON’T RAPE
20 minutes out of a life is actually a really long time to violate someone when you consider that you can kill in seconds. Time isn’t indicative of harm.
Yep. That quote from the judge -
We aren’t and we don’t need to be. A lot of people have some form of cognitive disability. They’re still responsible for their actions so far as they’re able to understand them. If someone’s functioning at a level where he’s able to carry out a plan to threaten to cut someone else with a knife unless she allows him to…
Who gives a fuck?
... why would you bring a knife into the bathroom just because? Was he planning to, perhaps, julienne some carrots while he was in there? Mince some onions? Cut some tile he was planning to lay?
He is grinning like a son of a bitch.
Is it me or is that son of a bitch smiling as the dad lunges at him and misses?
