You understand this perfectly.
You understand this perfectly.
SHAME AND DEFY THE WITCH!! SHAME AND DEFY THE WITCH!! Maybe she’ll be forced to leave her house, to change name! Until a couple months from now, when the masses will find ANOTHER WITCH TO BURN!!
Burn the witch! BURN THE WITCH!!
You have that. See my first comment. Ca has the largest percentage of representatives in congress. 53 out of over 400.
The tyranny of the majority, eh? That has never ever gone wrong.
Here are my takeaways from your comment:
It is a mechanism used to siphon power away from the masses that live in cities, and disproportionately give it over to the mostly white rural areas in the country.
just a bunch of whining from Coasters who refuse to acknowledge that they share a country with the citizens in the middle).
“Power is being stripped away.” Well, we all know where you stand. You...you do understand that Congress is a function of the country’s government, and not states, right? No power is being stripped anywhere.
It’s almost like it was designed that way or something.

how easy it is to bitch about something you don’t understand (as the OP did), without offering reasons for said bitching, or alternatives to solve whatever issue(s) prompted said bitching
Actually, the national makeup of the Senate is a very, very good thing. Of course, understanding this would require knowledge of the differences between the House and the Senate, something sorely lacking in this thread.
Democrats hold 39 of 53 seats (~73%), despite only having 44% of registered voters. Even if you hand them half of the “No Party Preference” group (which is weird - being a Democrat in California isn’t something most people hide), it’s still only 57% (44 + 25/2).
That it’s the point of the Senate doesn’t make it a good thing.
And yet you conveniently ignore the fact that California has more House Reps, because that doesn’t support the narrative you’re selling.
You want to argue House assignments, sure, I’m all for that.
California has 53 reps in congress compared to Mississippi’s 4 based on population. So quit your bitchin’.
I really wish people would stop talking about the Senate. There’s no way we would have gotten the Constitution ratified without the Senate compromise, and there is no way in hell that the NE states will go for a change in that system even if someone were stupid enough to try. Let it go.
That is both true and a good thing. It is, in fact, the point of the Senate.
