Electric cars pay much higher registration fees in many states because the State governments had the foresight to understand they’d be losing fuel taxes and that EVs should still pay their fair share to keep roads maintained. Your number would be drastically lower if you took these EV fees into account.

Why isn’t YouTube pulling these videos? If they’re “real” (and these kids are saying they are) then they’re committing a crime. Are people allowed to brag about committing crimes on YouTube?

No. The cost to insure my model 3 is about $85/month for full coverage. It’s certainly more than a Chevy but about on par with an Audi A4. Batteries are safer than combustion engines.
