This times 10. I swear 90 % of pick up truck owners just drive them around like a sedan and occasionally use the bed. My buddy leased a Tacoma almost 2.5 years ago and likely used the bed of his truck 5 times thus far. Definitely has towed anything.

“People are stupid, because they’re buying trucks that they almost never use as trucks when a more efficient minivan/hatch/sedan combined with renting a truck the rare times they need one would be much more efficient.”

A government subsidy towards the EV industry is never about welfare towards the underprivileged. So just put that idea to rest. This is about making the EV industry flourish, build the infrastructure that supports EV, and  transition from fossil fuels for transportation. All this effort so that ventually we would have

You didn’t count Iraq and Afghanistan in your O&G subsidies. You didn’t count the auto manufacturer bailouts either.

Instead of credits for luxury purchases (why not e-yachts?), we should be offering credits to purchases of bikes, e-bikes, and alternative commuting modes. Pay people money to stop driving so goddamn much.

The flip side to this is more hybrids and plug-ins hybrids should occupy more preowned inventory, so the people that would like an EV but can’t afford one, regardless of tax credits, now have more inexpensive alternatives.

They will get away with this until their constituents complain. Right now, the economy is good for them, so they are a-okay with these shenanigans.

2020 is going to give me so much anxiety because I have no faith in the Democratic party to secure the wins needed to break the GOP stranglehold on our country.

I’m 6'3. My feet need to go there to be comfortable.

“I’ve flown with a 24-hour flu”.

Oh god Elektrek is the WOOOORRRSSSTT, especially with that little vacuous editorial paragraph at the end of EVERY article/press release.

Agreed. Jesus-fuck, laying off employees should be a last resort in cost savings but companies today always take the easy way out to make their numbers look better.

Did you know that if you wrap a straw man in a fallacy of composition and then douse it in politics that it still doesn’t constitute a valid fucking premise?

It’s pretty well understood that traffic increases to fill available road capacity, so not expanding the highways is completely reasonable if your goal is to reduce the number of cars driving. If they expanded the lanes, it would still take 45 minutes to drive 7 miles, because there’d be 30% more cars stuck in traffic.

“ANY decent negotiator would tell you”

My cousin is an economist. She has multiple PhDs. She’s written multiple papers which I’ve never heard of, let alone read.

1st Gear: Is it wrong I want Kudlow to burst into tears as all his beliefs about economics burn down around him?

And not smart enough to know how not to go to jail in the first place. Yeah, so not that smart.

Yes, yes we are:
