Ummm.. Sync 3 is one of the most stable systems on the market. MyFord Touch was awful.

You don’t understand that China already lifted all such requirements for ANY maker of electric vehicles - and those requirements for automobile manufacturers in general are all being lifted by 2022.
Tesla didn’t get ANYTHING there that wasn’t already the standard policy for ANY company.
What people always forget in terms of “made in America” is that there’s more to it than just assembly line jobs, or even domestic content.
For example, which would you consider more “American”?
A Toyota assembled in the US with 50% domestic content
A Ford assembled in the US with 50% domestic content
A Ford assembled in…
Some.
Most are built somewhere in North America.
The biggest differentiator between Honda and the domestics, though, is the massive discrepancy in white collar jobs, moreso than blue collar ones.
And I’m not worried about c-suite executives - I’m talking tens of thousands of engineers and scientists.
That’s a gross oversimplification.
Some Japanese cars sold in the US are made in the US.
They rely on Mexico and Canada for production, too, though, and as a result their import/export balance still is generally worse than the domestic brands. Nissan, for example, is hugely reliant on Mexican imports - moreso than any…
Or, put another way:
Say homes in your area are selling for $250k and the property tax rate is 2% of value per year, or $5,000.
Now say you find a developer who agrees that if you buy a $80,000 lot from them, and agree to build a $170k house on it (at your own expense), you pay nothing for 5 years for the lot or for the…
You don’t quite get it.
Market value for the land is about $230 million.
You’re claiming that they are saving $323 million a year in taxes. So you think China charges property tax rates of 140% of market value? Really? No one in their right mind would ever buy property in China under those conditions.
That’s not an…
You’re missing something. Actually pretty much everything.
They’re not getting $323 million in subsidies for the first 5 years. They’re arguably not getting any subsidies on that plant here at all. They have to spend $2 billion and then after 5 years they start having to pay $323 million a year in taxes. The fact that…
The GOP might actually stand a chance if they stopped being so anti-worker and stood up for the little guy and minorities for once.
5th:
Don’t worry, the troglodytes in the Ohio state government will soon mandate that all vehicles sold roll coal and get no more than 10 mpg.
I mean, the Camry isn’t ever really bought under the expectation that it’s got
incrediblehandling,
I expect better.
My Fusion was one of the very first Fusions to roll off the line. It’s now almost 14 years old. It has NEVER shown any of these sorts of issues. It’s been more reliable than the 98 Camry it replaced (correcting for age, so comparing at like ages).
I wouldn’t give FCA a pass for this crap.
Would you care to elaborate? Which “entrenched maker” lost more money than Tesla last quarter? Or, more precisely, which “entrenched maker” lost money last quarter at all?
Not anymore - but just a few years back when lifetime limits were often low, oh, yeah, they’d “total” you in a heartbeat
What pisses me off about that is that those sensors are all plug-in, easy to replace, and they don’t cost squat. They’re charging $300-$1600 for radar sensors that cost $50 at most to put together. Hell, the proximity sensors they stick in your bumpers only cost $2 or so, and I’ve seen those even go for a pretty…
Who ever said logic applied? My insurance company has said they won’t give discounts for lightning protection, despite that being a leading cause of fires and insurance losses in the area. Same damned thing for a sprinkler system -no discounts there. Alarm monitoring tied to the fire department? Oh, yeah, no…
Hell, I had a small pebble get trapped between a lower control arm and the subframe of my Fusion back inside the frame (control arm goes into the frame) in a spot you couldn’t see it. Damned thing popped all the time when going over bumps - even turning could get a pop at times. Drove me nuts, because every component…
I’ve never known someone who bought a truck to brag about fuel economy. Or even try to use mpg as any way to justify it. That one time they went to Home Depot and bought a toilet and brought it home, though, THAT they’ll use to justify wasting money. :)
, 12 cents, and figure out how much power that Tesla would have used—about 1.44 kWh times 12, so 17.28 kWh, at 12 cents a kilowatt-hour, that’s what, around two bucks and seven cents. That gets the car about 25 miles of range, by the way, making the cost not too different than a gallon of gas.
Shove a couple into openings in the subframe and he gets to listen to a hell of a rattle for awhile... :)
