I’m 6'6", with much of that in my legs, not torso. I can’t physically fit in the seat if there is something under the seat in front of me.

I’d gladly put a bag under the seat in front of me. But the fact is that they don’t have enough room as it is - the only way I can physically fit in the seat is to use that space for my feet and contort my lower legs into it...
