What in particular is so much better on the interior? You mention screens, but this tacked on appearance trend is not a positive one, IMO.

“knee clearance and footwell length has been increased for rear passengers with the seats kicked all the way back.”

It’s hard to understate the importance of this.  Rear seat room in the current Escape is very poor - this might actually make the vehicle useful for families.

A company that shows its employees no loyalty will soon find it has employees with no loyalty who will jump ship the first time something slightly better comes along.

It is a two-way street, no matter how much the business school types want to pretend it isn’t.  If you’re going to layoff people at a whim like this,

Are you ignoring that they’ve announced plans for dozens more electrified vehicles, but you’re only focusing on a couple?

Right - which gives capacity for the named moves, but goblue92 is clearly implying a LOT more moves to Mexico, which won’t be possible without adding capacity.

Ohio is too stupid to prove you wrong.

Sorry, but as an Ohioan, this is the truth.

4th:

66 days of missed work on average is indicative of a pretty serious injury.  No Tesla PR spin can change that.

Where is Ford going to get the capacity in Mexico for this move like you claim?  They simply don’t have the spare capacity for large scale moves.

Is your foot heavy?

I’ve had the 1.5LT for a rental before and managed to average over 40 mpg on the highway through the mountains....

“Ford considers all things with an electric motor to be “electrified,””

They could be willing to let that market segment go to anyone willing to deal with those razor thin profit margins.

Now that is the correct analysis, not the “but fuel economy” complaint.

Could you define “spotty quality”?

Because even CR data doesn’t really point to much of anything past infotainment system problems - and everyone building those has seen the same hits (ahem, Honda).

Ok - so I see multiple problems - the reports of Boeing not having sufficient backup sensors, and the lack of adequate training -

But also, WTH was this plane allowed up into the sky again? The problem should have been reported to maintenance and the plane should have been grounded until repaired. Seems like the

Sure - I pay for a flush until out of warranty. After that, screw it - my method insures that I’m running on MUCH fresher fluid than the manual suggests, and at a fraction of the cost.

An enormous trunk, too - never underestimate the value of that.

The 2nd gen Mazda6 has a similar size trunk to the Accord, with the main difference being that it used four bar linkages for the trunk hinge instead of a gooseneck - which meant it effectively held more despite being slightly smaller size.

I can cram

I’m curious what you don’t like about the layout of the Fusion.  It’s not perfect, IMO, but I do find the general comfort significantly better than the current 6.  I wish Mazda hadn’t cut down on the space in the 6 with the current gen.   With its sizing, I have a hard time justifying it over a new Honda Insight,

You do realize every contract has a no strike clause, right? They use strikes as a negotiating tactic while negotiating a new contract, but they basically always have a no strike clause added for the life of the current contract.

You’re looking to the wrong thing to try to support your bias.

The 2007 strike against GM

If you have long legs, the current Mazda6 isn’t that spacious. The 2nd generation was HUGE by comparison but still reasonably sporty, particularly with a V6. Craptons of backseat space in that one. I’m 6'6", can put the drivers seat in a comfortable position (all the way back on the tracks), and still fit in the seat
