That movie has been made, with Michael Caine as an idiot actor portraying a Holmes created by Watson, played by Ben Kingsley. Without A Clue.

This obsession with canon is the same kind of adorable as a 3 year old stamping her foot and having a pointless tantrum. For your own sake, get over it.

Hell, we had a remake of Harvey already and it was called Donnie Darko.
