Yeah these have the “trumpety” GTR sound which doesn’t fit the looks or the Ford GT brand. Even a turbo v8 would have been better imo

100% agree. Ive owned an e92 and recently purchased a g80 m3, and it seems like BMW has lost some its priorities (although I think the g80 offers a significantly better driving experience than the f8x cars). The e92 engine was an absolute gem, so predictable, perfect amount of torque for the chassis.

It was still an incredible piece of tech, but it was a little disappointing that the 2016 Ford GT went with a twin-turbo EcoBoost V6, instead of staying with the traditional V8s of its predecessors. (289, 427, and 5.4L)

The M3. Had a 2004 6MT and the way it went through the powerband was amazing. I wish BMW had followed the Porsche route with their N/A sixes on the upper end of the performance lineup. Keep making the car lighter, refine and develop an N/A Inline 6 for the decades to come and reserve it for the top performance cars.

In practical use the McLaren F1” - In practical use?????@!?! WTF dude? You don’t buy an F1 for practical anything.

but Ferrari’s number names have always been bad, and continue to be today” - 365GTB? F40? 250GTO? Um... no.

That was the best part about the Fox bodies. You had no idea what was lined up next to you at the stoplight or dragstrip. Bone stock? Gutted and blown? Somewhere in between? Who knows.

This is outrage journalism at it’s finest.

Today I learned a McLaren F1 looks ‘frumpy.’

Your complaints about the McLaren F1 really look like you just wanted to include it for rage bait and then came up with reasons after the fact. Surprised you didn’t use it for the header image. Really drive those clicks!

Nothing wrong with the 90's. And Bradley is wrong about the Viper.

Favorite car I ever owned was a 1991 Nissan Sentra SE-R.

You’re going to want to fight me on this one, but I’m right. The F1 was fast, and it was lightweight, and it had three seats. The ethos of this car is cool, but that’s all it is, an ethos. In practical use the McLaren F1 has squeaky brakes, the clutch is too heavy, it’s easy to stall, it’s hard to get in and out of,

I get the sentiment, but do we really expect anybody to spend the money better? Like it takes years for my city council to figure out how the hell to do a traffic study. JUST THE STUDY. Not the actual improvements. Handing them more money isn’t going to fix how incompetent they are.

And in the grand scheme of things

This is my 2008 Aston Martin V8 Vantage Roadster. My other car is a company 2022 Chevy Equinox. I like my Vantage more…

I got 2... couldn’t be more different. :-)
