I’ve stopped believing most of his bizarre rant. I mean I actually own the cars he’s lecturing me on!

Volume matters. My last two new BMWs were basically non-existent except at a bigger dealer who did high volume in ///M cars AND bought other dealers’ allocation for the fun cars. They got one of the first M235s for when other dealers were charging markups and then recently got me a manual comp package M3 when no one

This is going to be a total disaster. In my experience, the cheaper the car the worse the buying experience.

I’ll agree that the S4 has a great interior. Volvo seats are amazing though. Again it just comes down to preference, stock-vs-stock since it’s so similar.

Did you even bother reading my response? I have seat time in multiple S4s — including one that is APR stage 3. Not to mention several other fast Audis. The stock S4 is pretty damn comparable to the Polestar. Just comes down to personal preference. You can have yours without shitting on a very good car.

Couldn’t agree more. I have an M3, a Dinan 3, and an S60R is my daily. My dad’s Polestar tuned S60 is even better. They’re a great choice when you’re looking for an all-round performer. That guy is just ignorant.

Both cars are on near-new Michelin Super Sports so it’s not a tire issue. Putting down power in wet/snowy weather isn’t a RWD forte regardless of driver skill especially with 500-500 horsepower on tap. Don’t get me wrong — I love it in the dry/mild rain, but even my racing instructor friend says his AWD cars are

I have a 2017 M3 and a 2004 Volvo S60R. My dad drives an S60 with the Polestar tune. I love fast Volvos. They’re for a different purpose than the M cars and I know for a fact that his will outrun my M3 in anything other than ideal conditions.

I’ll bet that this was focus grouped. We hate it but it’s probably what people say they want. Not saying it’s what they do want...but it’s what they say they want.

I’ve had an E30, E46, F22, and F80 and driven almost everything else. Only half your experience but I couldn’t agree more!

    Thanks! I certainly think so!

Thanks! It shows up at Katie’s Cars and Coffee from time to time...

No — it’s an auto. My other two cars are stick and since I bought this to daily in DC traffic an auto made more sense. That said, I’ve recently been contemplating a swap!

    Thanks!

Nice price all day. I have an E46 wagon that’s been built up as my daily and it cost me this much just in parts and labor — not to mention the car itself which cost almost this much. This is going to be an absolute riot for not much change.

This is why I read Jalopnik.

C5 — automatic would barely edge that Volvo 0-60 (5.2 vs 5.5). GM has come a long way in re-establishing some performance cred. Amazing improvement from those days.

I agree completely. There are just times where the GTI was the equivalent of a firecracker under your friend’s seat: it gave them a little scare and a good laugh when they sat down. The M3 is sometimes like a humorless German saw that and said “Vy not ein nuclear bomb, ja?”

I love those. Finding one not beat to hell is next to impossible though. It’s still the most world-class Acura behind the NSX and ITR.

That was my situation. I graduated and bought a Mk6, then bought another a few years later. It did everything and the second was chipped and was a total riot.
