Wow — I always thought it was available elsewhere. My bad.

I’d guess it's just a sales calculation. Even my E46 had to go the Dinan route (starting point was already a RWD ZSP sport package) because there wasn't a 330i option here — let alone the excellent 330i ZHP that was sold in Europe. It's a shame but at least BMW is consistent.

Wow! I love the M5 wheels on yours. I’d really like a 540i. That V8 and what a quintessential BMW body.

I know! I hate xdrive. One of the many things keeping me out of an F30...

I couldn’t agree more. I also have a ‘14 M235i and while it’s an awesome car (to me at least) the interior can’t hold a candle to the simplicity and elegance of the E46.

You’re not kidding. My M235i is still under warranty so when it was in getting serviced I asked about an F30 diesel wagon and it was like pulling teeth. They basically don’t exist and they wanted me to just order one and hope that it drove well. Maybe some element of people not buying them is that they’re hard to find

Just came back from Katie’s Cars and Coffee. It was rainy so I brought my daily driver — a Dinan3 E46 touring. It even got some love! But honestly a lot of the conversation centered on how it’s a rarity and how there need to be more enthusiast wagons! I wish some of the people from VW HQ nearby were there to hear that

Thanks! Got to love mystic blue...

Yeah...me too. Mine is a Dinan3 (slightly more rare than most maybe?) It’ll take some of the sting out of selling my E30 325is before the appreciation bubble really hit.

Exactly. That's my point. This is Mercedes doing the same thing — creating two tiers of performance cars like Audi did.

My local BMW shops do this. It's amazing and a nice add-on to my warranty.

If you get past the semantics and marketing hype it’s the same thing. The 335i is the real S4 competitor - not the M3. Audi has been segmenting their “special” performance offering for years. MB and BMW are just following suit.

I don’t hate this. Audi has S and RS — I can see this going in the same direction.

Alex! Great to hear from you.

I love me some Atacama and a space ball.

Feel the same way about you, dude.

You definitely have a better point of reference than I do!

    It’s barely a luxury car.

Honestly the M3/4 FEELS way bigger. It’s why I went with an M235i back in ‘14 and why I’d go for the M2 now.

    Not very different.
