That first-gen TSX is a little jewel of a car. Last good one they made...

Great comment. I love all the cars you mentioned but I have a special place in my heart for that CL Type-S. What a gorgeous and fun car. When that and the RSX disappeared Acura lost me.

I love these, but this looked like it was owned by the captain of SS douche canoe. I wouldn't touch without gloves.

Russian missile trains always seemed pretty damned sinister to me. They're so dark and sinister I can just imagine some rusty missile train half-buried in a snow bank in all black just waiting...

Yup. I've since converted from a string of VW products to a BMW. I still love 'em though.

Would love to see more of these made. That said — some manufacturers do it and I even happen to own one.

I don't have my GTI anymore but if hardly call them disappointing. Don't know what you were looking for but they're probably the best all-around hot hatch in the US. What do you think it was missing relative to other comparable cars?

I liked Quattro in the S4 I was considering. It was pretty transparent. That said, it took about five minutes of tail-out hooning to get me to sign on the dotted line for an M235i instead.

Ugh. They were literally all that was available in Pittsburgh when my dad was car shopping. They told him he'd have to special order a RWD car. He bought another brand because XDrive is miserable.

Gorgeous car and forgotten too soon by the automotive press. It handled beautifully and that 5-door was/is so unique. My dad had a 5 door touring which he only recently sold for an S60 R-Design. Could have afforded more than a mazda the first time around but nothing could touch that blend of handling prowess, good

Like the TL it couldn't quite take on the Germans on their own terms. That said, it was (and is) gorgeous, quick, and has Thor's own throne for a driver's seat.

When will they learn? Acura and Lexus pulled this off in the 80s when the Germans were at a low point. Today they're arguably near the top of their game.

I'd rather see lotus dead than in some suburban big-box parking lot being crammed with kids and toilet paper (or more likely a whole foods lot being filled with quinoa).

Just traded my Mk6 GTI for an M235i and this makes me think twice about that decision.

I always think the "driven by professors" line is funny.

The point was that at the level of equipment on this test car it's a huge waste of money. I'd vary some options sure, but ultimately I can't think of any situation where this car is a value. Granted you can lighten up on the options (point taken) and it gets more reasonable, but for my $40-$50k I don't think this

Tesla sure made a splash out of the gate. They're everywhere in my Audi/merc dominated parking garage.

If you want an E46 M3 that's new, get an M235i, wipe the floor with this in terms of performance and refinement, and save some money.

That price is laughable with that interior and performance. If you're old and fat, get a corvette. If you're young and brash get a BMW. If you're stylin get a Boxster. Just don't get this!

Blistering Barnacles! That's a gorgeous car.
