I live in DC and have seen this actual car and a few others around. Trust me, in person it's unique but no quattroporte.

Ironic because a decade ago this = 626
These were the last handsome subarus and honestly the only model they make outside the Toyobaru that I'd ever actually consider. They're quirky and quick like old saabs (same buyers too) and have a kind of functional and purposeful beauty about them.
So true in a strange way (at least for these ostentatious movies). Reminds me of the opening scene from Drive where Ryan Gosling 's character drives a then-current silver impala because it's the most popular car in CA. Yes it had a V8 but it looked pure rental fleet.
APR 2.0T stage one tune even made the blowoff on my GTI more noticeable. Love it every time I shift under power!
Crazy. Some sound awful but some also sound fantastic. My 2.0T GTI sounds pretty damn good.
Sacrilege! I would love one of these, mostly for the engine. Who would do such a perverted thing?
Wow. Where I live I almost never see the SVT version (what I posted) and I'm in a major city. Guess it varies from place to place.
I know jalops say this all the time, but I will buy this with the 2.0T FSI if it's made. Love it!
Good plan. I'll drive !
God I've hated every CVT I've ever driven. They make cars feel gutless. I want to feel it drop down and KICK. That locomotive whoosh from the CVT just makes it feel strained and slow even with a lot of power.
Wow. Interesting. Question though: if they drive high-end Fords wouldn't they just drive high-end Chevy trucks making GMC still pointless?
Eh. I live in the city and drive a GTI. Fits in most spaces and (especially chipped) is plenty fast and nimble for shooting through traffic. The only people who buy the iQ are stupid and have been convinced they can't drive anything better.
Well I could definitely get behind that! I'm not a GM guy, but it's always cool to see enthusiasts getting behind the cars they love. Nice work dude. I'm excited to see what could be too!
That would have been interesting to see for sure, but it's all speculation. Pontiac died and GM was on the ropes because they half-assed it the first time around. The Toyobaru was done pretty well out of the gates (and I'm not a fanboy).
Don't blame the guys who make the cars. Blame a company that hasn't designed a globally-relevant car since the Johnson administration and who agreed to those contracts in the first place. German cars are built with union labor and they're pretty damn near the best in the world. If GM could do that, they would be fine…
Isn't that a Toyota underneath?
I'm a millenial and never even entertained the thought of a car from GM until the ATS.
The professional image/branding always confused me. Do people who really go to worksites actually get leather and chrome on their trucks? Probably not. Do office professionals want a chromed up Chevy? Probably not.
